Reviews of Aqua Quorum by Antonio Puig
Well, ive read all the comparisons between this
and that, and how its somewhat polarizing as far as good/bad. My two cents? I believe rather than an eternity/polo sport/cool water "clone-ish" fragrance, that this is actually the result of someone smelling voyageur by jean patou and making a kinda cheapie take. It smells good, but considering the availability of voyageur, id just spend the 30 bucks on the patou as opposed to the 20 on the A.Q.
P.s. i think vintage polo sport is much better, and i have a vintage aqua quorum for the review.

Just another aquatic to add to all the other aquatics oversaturating the market at that time (1994). Is it me or do all aquatics smell the same and last even less? This one has decent performance though

As a fan of original Quorum, I was happy to try and buy this inexpensive flanker. My bottle is from 2015 and I do sense that there is oak moss anchoring this fresh citrus scent. My first impression is a strong vodka note, giving way to lavender and grapefruit, underscored by oak moss. This is very similar to Eau de Rochas pour Homme but slightly synthetic smelling. That said, this is an easy summer wear at a very affordable price. Throw it in your bag when you are packing for a stay at the beach. Like Quorum's other flanker, Quorum Silver, I like to wear this one with original Quorum aftershave which, with its strong oak moss note, ties these flankers back to their parent and gives them more heft.
Nothing that will blow you away, but not bad. An average aquatic that you can fall back on since it's a cheapie. Aqua Quorum smells a little younger than Cool Water and original AdG. Rather weak compared to Quorum and lasts maybe two hours. After that it stays close to the skin. I'd say pass.
Very clean, deodorant/body gel smell. Smells like the 90s. Not strong and does not project but seems to have decent longevity.
This is like Eternity mixed with a little bit of Cool Water.
The problem with that, is the end result ends up being a dilution of the first fragrance it's imitating. It's basically a dull version of Calvin Klein's Eternity.
What made Eternity successful was its sharpness, there's notes that give its opening this bold vibe. It's like a stiletto. Aqua Quorum is like a butter knife.
Like Eternity, the dry down in Aqua Quorum gets powdery, but more so, and smells cheaper.
SMELLS LIKE:
See above.
CONCLUSION:
It's wearable. The playful, colorful bottle and the neutered Eternity smell give it an immature impression.
At the price, it's a great deal, and I really like the bottle. But I why not just spend the extra $$ and buy Calvin Klein's Eternity?
The only other reason I can think of wearing this one regularly, is if you like Cool Water, but think it's way too sharp, with it's excess dihydromyrcenol, then this might be a good compromise.

It's poor man's Polo Sport
A very dull and lifeless aquatic and I'll clarify why.Lavender there's nothing wrong with but combine it with grapefruit?bad results.Grapefruit is a prime note in a fair bit of Adidas scents like Ice Dive and Moves For Him.Clean and citrusy...but also bright and metallic smelling.I get an Alka Seltzer leather out of this I guess to simulate a bubbly effect of oceanic based scents and it's just...boring.
I actually had meant to buy Quorum Silver, which I may still try to get my hands on, but this stuff is at least serviceable. It smells cheap but not bad. It's an OK sweet aquatic, sort of reminding me of Polo Blue but with more sweet, floral top notes rather than the dry cucumber. It has a moderate amount of the fruity (apple?) component of Eternity or the old Nautica Competition, and initially this gets more intense as it progresses. The fruitiness almost reminds me of the shampoo-like components of Grabazzi or Horizon, which is a minor annoyance, but I don't find it to stick out as obtrusively as in those two. It's a bit metallic, but not as much as a lot of sweet aquatics or herbals/aromatics on the men's market. It ends up quite a bit soapier at the end, which I'm OK with, and keeps up its strength pretty well.
Great aquatic fragrance, nicely balanced with quality ingredients, in my opinión above Cool Water and Eternity, in some aspects very close to Bleu de Channel, but slightly sweeter, which might be a draw back for few of you. The opening is nice with a nice balance between lavander, citrus und freesia and then coming in geranium, grapefruit, cardamon and amber. The dry-down is nice, as the original scent does not alter into a soapy or even vanilla cheapy. Donm't know how Puig can get this result for the Price of the fragrance. Put a Channel label on it and it passes perfectly... Thumbs up for a nor very original, but nicely blended scent which is great for casual every day use, office or the gym.
Aqua Quorum has no resemblance to the original Quorum at all. AQ smells clean, fresh, a little fruity, and somewhat sweet… really brings back memories of Polo Sport. The main difference besides the cheap price is that Aqua Quorum performs way better.
In the midst of freshness, there's a non-persistent sour note that doesn't quite belong, but it is just brief. Some elements of Cool Water could be detected when the initial sharpness settles. In some reviews, AQ was even compared to Wings, but the latter is too sharp and highly synthetic, whereas AQ is softer, gentler, more natural, and smells ten times better off of skin.
Aqua Quorum is lively, casual, sporty, and versatile. A very pleasant scent to refresh with after a workout. Truly enjoyable and very easy to like. Blind-bought and will reorder again.

This smells like the 90's but in a good way. If you ever wanted to take a trip down memory lane, but didn't want or were embarrassed to buy certain fragrances (Eternity, Cool Water etc) this is the cologne for you. Like its older brother, this is well made at a great price. Such a great price my wife uses it as air fresher all the time and I don't even freak out!
I bought this blind a few years ago and never regretted it! To me it's not an aquatic per se but more a 'fresh aromatic fougere' which can be used all year around actually but does best during warmer summer days as it's very refreshing!
It belongs to the same genre as eg. Cool water, Eternity and Polo Sport and it has a little of all these frags combined and costs like 1/3 of the price of the others. It's is compared mainly to Polo Sport, but AQ has no seaweed note.
It starts heavy and sharp and a little 'alcoholic' with lavender and flowers surrounded by grapefruit. The base of amber, leather and oakmoss do give a very masculine and spicy edge to this very fresh fragrance like the drydown of Cool Water has as well. This is far better than most aquatics thrown at the market last 15 years, especially looking at the price! It lasts for like 8 hours even and has above average sillage.
It's versatile and 100% masculine! The only drawback I can think of is that it's not that original as it seems it has copied and combined some of the best accords of Cool water, Eternity and Polo Sport together to create AQ but I don't care. Note that this frag is nothing similar to it's green brother Quorum!
Thumbs way up! Rated: 8/10

To my nose this is a hybrid of Eternity and Polo Sport.
Top notes are like Polo Sport.
Dry down is like Eternity.
It seems to get compared to Cool Water and although I can see why I think Cool water (even in its current formulation) is better than E, PS and AQ.
Nothing wrong with AQ at all. But it isn't as good as CW (a permanent favourite of mine) so I give it a neutral.

This is what i'd call a fruity aquatic. A great scent for the summer with good longevity. An inexpensive scent that is a worthy addition to anyones collection.
I fully agree with the Foetidus's description, the first part of the development is decidedly alcoholic, sharp and watery because of the astringent accord between citrusy lavender, freesia, geranium and grapefruit. The spices are moderately dosed, some herbs uphold a certain level of sharpness and the role of the ambergris is to set a silky alley to play as a couscion towards the softer mossy base. The fragrance is a fresh and traditional green fougere with a touch of ozone and air. The connection between freesia, lavender, some aldehydes and ozonic elements is the link with the "marine" universe. Notorious and respectable this stout scent was a precursor for many following mass-market airy fashionable fragrances, the scent of the fresh-marine-easy life of the past roaring years.
Nice. This takes one step on the very long journey from Cool Water to Green Irish Tweed. It improves greatly on Cool Water, though - AQ is a soft, rather well-blended fragrance in the early 1990s aquatic mode, which is much less horrible than the current run of aquatics.
The lavender/freesia/grapefruit notes (which I get from the pyramid, not from any evidence in the frag itself) come together to suggest a violet leaf accord, a distant cousin of Creed's GIT. Aqua Quorum's violet leaf/marine note is milky and soapy rather than cutting and bracing. A imaginative person might detect a faint echo of the original Quorum here, though the scents are not much alike.
The fragrance is not unduly strong, and its duration is likewise moderate. Drydown is very nice, but not surprising. I'd be comfortable paying $30 or $40 a bottle for this, but it's easy to find for under $20, which is a bargain. Don't expect to stand out, but do expect to smell quite nice.
If you have room for only one Quroum in your life, pick the original, but if you're looking for a fun, cheap aquatic that knows what it's doing then you can't go wrong here. The bottle, which is bright yellow and blue, is amazing, like something imported from the Art Deco retro future.

The opening seems very cologny on my skin–I don't think its thin sharpness is caused by the spices, I believe it's from the alcohol and the way the lavender of the opening is employed. The lavender is neither creamy nor aromatic–it's just rather emaciated and its combination with freesia doesn't help expand the breadth of the accord. The result is that sharp, thin cologny twang that reminds me of drugstore scents. It's not bad, just quite common. The sharpness continues into the heart notes with the grapefruit and geranium almost unaffected by the sweetness and thickness of the amber. The base softens and is turns out to be quite attractive with its lavender from the top and geranium from the middle combined with the mossy base. Aqua Quorum is an okay fragrance. It is a decent inexpensive fragrance that acts like a decent inexpensive fragrance; it is probably sweeter than I like, but it does have good longevity.

Do you like Eternity? How about Aspen?OK, then.As cheap as Aspen (price, not smell). Less embarrassing to own than Eternity.Lasts forever.
Pre aquatic era frag that is actually good considering the age. most aquatics today can't really match up to this. It is the product of forseeing a new direction picked by Cool Water. i imagine it was a good alternative to Cool Water back then, but who could ignore Cool Water's grip? Especially back then. I supose if AQ was not such a 'safe' creation it woul dhave gained more followers.
It's a bargain-priced, nice scent. Reminds me of Davidoff Cool water. It is not great but a good refresher for that price.
This is my favourite from the Quorum Collection and I am on my umpteenth bottle to date. I always look forward to wearing it and it is often the default choice for me. The deep blue bottle and its bright yellow top by the way is very attractive and sporty IMO. Apart from the shape of the bottle it has virtually nothing in common with the original Quorum. In summary, it is best seen as a close aquatic alternative to the more ubiquitous likes of Cool Water and Acqua di Gio (if you like those, then you will probably like Aqua Quorum too). Most of what can be said about Cool Water and its aquatic brethren also applies to Aqua Quorum. It’s a pleasantly cool, crisp, fruity and bright tonic at the beginning – especially straight from the fridge :-)) – that makes you feel fresh and alive much like classic colognes, and reminds me of a superior drugstore scent (meant as a compliment). There is nothing sultry or dark in this one as it dries down to an energetically fruity, slightly mossy and perhaps less synthetic scent than Cool Water. Aqua Quorum IMO is a very safe & versatile fragrance that makes an ideal hot weather, casual, sport/beach, and work/office fragrance. Its sheer clear-headedness makes it ideal for all ages, especially where undue sensuality might be seen undesirable or inappropriate, e.g. as a Fathers’ Day present or as a gift for a young teenager or elderly relative. Sillage and longevity are above average on me. As a final clincher, Aqua Quorum can usually be found at embarrassingly cheap prices. Recommended.
An early aquatic that smells like Eternity by Calvin Klein and Very Sexy for Him by Victoria's Secret (even though it predates the latter). Not bad for the price and it lasts a while.
I must admit I love the bottle. I think it`s ridicilously good looking in a playful way, and I almost would like to buy me a full bottle because of that. The juice itself is like so many other Cool Water copycats are : A pleasant, aromatic marine blend of different kind of synthetic ingridients : Herbs, citruses and ambergris.Comparing to many of its soul companions, AQ is a bit spicier and perhaps a bit darker, but it`s still utterly boring. If only the scent would have matched the spirit of that bottle, then it would have been something fun and different.
