According to the notes, this is an incredibly complicated smell, but to my nose it all boils down to finely spiced tonka.

Dawn must be using a hell of a tonka absolute - it's vanillic and bready and toasted, lightly floral (presumably from the lavender, though I wouldn't have guessed this was supposed to have been a lavender perfume without knowing what it's called), and dusted with cinnamon sugar and pie spices. It all comes together to smell like the doughy, spiced sweetness of a donut shop or a kitchen with sweets baking. That being said, it's not really what I'd classify as a traditional gourmand - the amber underneath and the coumarin aspect of the tonka make sure it smells more "perfumey" than edible.

I've really had a good time getting to know Crépuscule, so thumbs up, unless you had your heart set on a traditional lavender.
