Reviews of Beckham Signature for Him by Beckham

Show: All Reviews
Lots of citrus-fruity notes in the opening. Reminds me of a generic house freshening scent. The drydown is even more generic. Just sweet and clean. Could be a Febreeze scent. Very pleasant.

Projection is good fresh after the spray but dies down quickly. I only get below average longevity.

Beckham Signature is a fragrance that opens as a fruity, aromatic, fresh smelling scent. Unfortunately, it doesn't get better than this.

You'll notice the aqua and watermelon notes, so if you love those smells, this might be worth a pick.

As it dries down, the fragrance starts to get bitter or tart. It loses that fresh smelling fruity opening.

Beckham maxes out at about 3-4 hours of life. This is perfect if you just need to grab some groceries, hit the gym, or grab a pizza. Later on you'll be able to put something else on and Beckham won't be detected. Since you can find it online for less than $15, it makes sense to give it a try as a situational fragrance.

A citrus opening with orange, a melon impression, and a slightly ozonic undertone. A juniper drydown with whiffs of a bright but restrained bergamot consolidate the impression of a mix of fresh and summery heart notes, but it lacks some of the refreshing invigoration that citrus-based scent usually provide so well.

in the base a white musky-ambery undertone develops - pleasant and a bit dull.

The perfomance is very good, with moderate sillage, good projection and an impressive ten hours of longevity on my skin - more than what citrus scents and celebrity fragrances usually offer.

In summary a nice summary composition, a bit too synthetic and restrained at timebut well-blended. 2.75/5.

For the price, this is a nice youthful and fun fragrance. Being a cheapie, all the nice ingredients are loaded into the first two hours and then your are left with a pleasant musk that continues to project.

I notice that comments about performance vary. My suspicion is that performance is dependent on application method. I felt that longevity was good and projection was excellent.

I think this best suits guys under 30 that don't analyse fragrance too much and just want to smell good and have decent projection.

For those seeking an upgrade, Calvin Klein Eternity Now is slightly less brash.

This is beautifully balanced and lovely. The melon is muted, wrapped inside the juniper berry, cypress, and aquatic tones. It is as fresh as a light northern breeze on a Spring night and the white amber finish is long-lasting and head-turning. This will get you compliments.

Marine scented with a slight melon and patchouli note. This is another one of those frags that are ok for the price ($17.00 at Marshalls). I tested with two sprays on the back of my hand and surprisingly the scent lasted for about 5 hours. The scent is not cloying and very safe. For the price, overall scent, projection and longevity you might want to check this one out.

And this is coming from someone who doesn't care too much for celebrity scents.

I guess this is ok, if you're looking for a signature scent for the Summer, or maybe even Spring. This is basically a citrus fragrance, with a mild tangerine note, a slight aquatic vibe from the melon, surrounded by citrus smelling floral notes. It's kind of a lighter green type scent.

Quite transparent. As others have said, longevity and projection are a bit week. Longevity is spotty for me.. it goes away then comes back. Some may enjoy fragrance that do this, I personally do not, because it then messes with whatever fragrance I put on later. Projection is on the weak side. The fragrance itself is along the lines of Versace pH, and Adidas Moves, as it is a vibrant citrus type scent with an aquatic feel. Probably most like Unforgivable though, but with much less melon.

Nice scent with weak longevity...

I have purchased a number of the Beckham fragrances blind. All are great scents, to include Signature, but all are relative weak in longevity. As I continue to write reviews, the longevity element/measure has grown in importance to me and is the element I am most critical. The rationale is simple, why buy a cologne if there is no projection/sillage?

Signature offers a fresh scent out of the gates with evergreen, floral, and powdery notes. It settles into a very pleasant fragrance with amber and outdoorsy (I think I just made up a word..!!) finishing notes. It is very easy on the nose. That is about all the good comments regarding Signature...

Similar to other comments, the fragrance lasts about an hour. Yes, I get it - our body chemistry is different, but this fragrance does not last even on clothing. Following the hour after the initial application, it requires a follow-up dose.

The bottle is awkwardly designed, making it a challenge to hold and spray in the same motion. The packaging is below average - I actually notice packaging of the bottle more now. You can tell when a manufacturer wants to sell "top shelf"...

If you can pick this up for under $10, and just for the thrill of adding another bottle to your collection, pick it up...

All things considered I will give Signature 3 stars out of five. Ensure you develop tomorrow's leaders...

For a celebrity scent, this is really great. It's great in it's own right too. A fresh spicy marine scent with a really nice ozonic sillage. In fact - this has one of the freshest projections I have ever experienced. Very very nice indeed.

This scent is great, and at the price you cant really complain. Dont disregard this because its a celebrity scent - its pleasing, a compliment getter and women love it. Dont believe me? Try for yourself!

It starts with a fresh, sweet, slightly fruity note. It develops into a combination of an Avon scent and one of the those rub-and-sniff strips in a magazine. Definitely cheap smelling. Then a rather nasty metallic marine chord appears, something like old tin cans on a beach.

Don't even think about judging this cologne if you haven't smelled it on your skin. Yes, if you spray it on a piece of paper its going to smell like licorice, luckily I'm not made of paper. This is a great scent. The best part about it is that it changes with what you wear. Throw on a t-shirt and jeans, boom its light enough for a summer day. Toss on your nice threads, wait for the sun to go down, bamm! Its deep and sensual enough to be a classy scent. Sensual is the best word for it really. It smells sweet, but not fruity (and by fruity I mean the life style not the description of a smoothy), sweet enough to catch the ladies attention, spicy enough to bring them over and woody enough to keep them close. Not very strong, so go ahead, spray a bit extra.

At first when I smelled this, Its a scent that is really simple, smooth, and sweet. It didnt hate it, but it was nothing that blew me out of the water. Its very simple, however when I wore it, Everybody around me loves it!!! Its nothing that is offensive and strong so you can afford to put a little extra on. Its pretty casual and great for daytime that wont offend anyone. I wasn't a fan of any of the Beckham fragrances before this, so it was very surprising how light and sweet it was compared to the previous ones. Its very nice when you want something obnoxious, heavy, spicy, or loud to be on you. Some will say this is nothing that will get you attention from others because it isn't really "groundbreaking" but others will say its pretty guaranteed that most people around you will like this. Everyone should own this because of its simplicity and understated appeal! It also would be a great signature scent because it is so non-offesive

So glad that my signature fragrance isn't the inside of a licorice plastic wrapper.

I personally really like the scent. I surprisingly do notice the transition from top notes to the lower notes, more noticing of when it went from the first to the last without the middle. but ive only worn it twice now.i agree the scent does die down semi quick, but i apply a little extra and make sure to apply to the right spots! If anyone has any suggestions for new colognes please notify me

I like Intimately Beckham so I thought I would try Signature. The first thing that came to my mind was CK Eternity. Low and behold they both share that same mandarin top note. I don't know what the "Green Botanics" are in Eternity but I bet it is very close if not the same as the "Marine Notes" in Signature. To my disappointment, I smelled no watermelon at all unless it is one that has yet to ripen. I can't tell what the progression to middle and base notes is like. It all seemed to disappear in less than two hours. I don't want to shoot this down because it may just be my body chemistry. So, I'll just sit on the fence with a neutral rating.

I got a little confused because I thought I was sniffing his original debut fragrance, Instinct. A fresh fougere without being aquatic. The opening fruit notes smelled more citrus than anything, much like SJ's Unforgivable. Then I smelled what seemed like a tamed re-worked (castrated) version of Instinct, slightly mossy without the spicy punch of pimento. The concentration is thin, very thin--go ahead an be generous with spraying because a lot of it evaporates within the first 30 minutes (seems like it's his trademark with all his scents).Nice, but this has no distinction and originality compared to his former offerings...it's just okay.
