The company says:

Bluff is at first a refreshing invigorating blend of citrus fruits, wood extracts and spices. It then reveals itself as an extremely elegant yet sensual unisex eau de parfum. The composition is inspired from the invigorating remedies supplied to the pioneers in the Wild West during the gold rush. Once developed by emigrant physicians, these tonics were first considered as medicines. They would soon become a part of American culture, and later be transformed into soft drinks for young people.

This is not especially interesting to me. It's not objectionable, exactly, but it's modern smelling and underwhelming, lacking the beauty and nuance of naturalness that I like, especially in a vetiver fragrance.

Vetiver cola.
Fresh, French, oddly historic.

The best compliment I got while wearing this was, while in a roomful of coworkers in the breakroom celebrating someone's birthday, a woman who had claimed she's allergic to all fragrances entered and asked, "What's that wonderful smell?"

What an odd concoction of notes Bluff is.

The lime and kola nut open strong, very creamy a sweet.

The patchouli makes it's presence known right away and I was able to guess it's inclusion before I looked at the pyramid. Cedar also peeks it's head in to bring some spice to the sweetness.

It reminds me a lot of expensive sunscreen or tanning lotion.

I don't like it as much as Itasca, which is much more masculine.

Unusual vetiverBergamot and cinnamon make a nice too note, that develops into a green drydown. Later vetiver arrives but stays a bit in the background on my skin. Overall it never really takes off on me, but is definitely pleasant. Gone after about three hours

Wow I'm liking this right off the bat. A fresh spicy sweet opening with lime and cinnamon and iris coming together to create something I have not smelled before.

This accord is brand new too me I have never smelled anything like it and I'm loving it. I'm getting the nutmeg now amongst the fresh spicy flowery accord, lol... Ahhhh man this is good.

Now that great limey iris accord is calming down and the woody nutmeg is becoming slighty more prominent with a touch of a dark fizzy note, very subtle which must be the kola nut. It kind of gives the woods a slight coke like effervescent quality though very slight.

As time has moved on I'm picking up a bit of vetiver and patchouli though that lovely unusual limey iris accord is still there. It's getting a little more sweet now but still has that floral woodyness to it.

To sum up a wonderful fresh floral limey iris accord with a woods and nutmeg that finishes with a vetiver patchouli accord in the base while keeping the star of the show notes. I get seven hours out of it and I really like this one.
