Reviews of CH Men Sport by Carolina Herrera

This is a spicy fragrance and far from the sweet bombs that are so popular nowadays. I find this to be rather distinctive for being a sport flanker and mislabeled as a sport frag. It starts out with a touch of grapefruit and sage at the top then quickly gets spicy. A lot of pepper and a bit of juniper come through. I detect no aquatic notes at all. When it dries down, the sandalwood and vetiver come out of it. Creamy with just a touch the vetiver. I wouldn't use this in the same situations as other typical sport scents. I can see this in the spring/early fall and on cooler summer days and also evenings. I would not use this on the hottest days of summer.

Projection and longevity are above average with this one. I get a couple hours of good projection and get about 8+ hours for longevity with it settling a little closer around the 3 hour mark.

All and all this is not the terrible fragrance that others make it out to be. Even if you blind buy it and don't like it, you're only out of your lunch money for a day because it's so cheap at discount stores.

A surprising blind buy for me. On a quest for a decent designer fresh "dumb grab" for a guy who normally likes weird and woody scents, I decided to pick this up based on some interesting reviews online.

Long story short, it's eerily close to CDG's Blue Santal. This is a tiny bit more aquatic, but not too bad since i don't like that note much...but seems to have a slightly brighter attitude. The aquatic notes are blended or represented by juniper, so they hide in the background a bit. I got rid of my bottle of BS a few years ago, probably because it didn't stand up (in a few ways). Considering the price on this, and the fact that the bottle stands up, it seems to be a keeper.

Interestingly, this was released before the CDG scent, at least according to what's in the database here.

Oh yuck, this is just vulgar. This needs to be thrown in the pit and forgotten that it ever came to fruition.

Just a horrible mixture of wtf. It comes together and smells like pure bergamot oil; like the kind you use for aromatherapy, not on skin, and a bunch of woods and spices. All very synthetic smelling to my nose, at that. I already dislike Habit Rouge, but this is like, if Habit Rouge was modernized, but with the cheapest ingredients you could find, and then a thick pungent bergamot.. that's what this smells like.

It's a scrubber for me, and I've only scrubbed off maybe 30 or so fragrances out of the thousands I've tried on my skin!

This scent reminds me of Marc Jacobs for Men, which I absolutely love. Glad I found another alternative for it. The notes give it a "coconut" scent without smelling like suntan lotion, which I like. Good fragrance for spring/summer!

I think I might be the only one picking up a coconut kind of a vibe in this fragrance. This is actually really good. To me it's far from generic or bland, I think when you automatically attach the name "Sport" on a fragrance it kind of already gives the perception of blandness, but i'm glad I gave this one a chance and took the public opinion with a grain of salt, it really grew up me. One thing I do agree is that the name "Sport" can be misleading, this is got a very nice coconut, vetiver and woody vibe that is very versatile. And surprisingly for a "Sport" fragrance the performance is quite good. Another hit for me in the CH Line, very impressed!

What a complete disappointment,i was expecting something totally different since is supposed to be a sporty fragrance with aquatic notes and sweetness to it but boy what a slap i got. This is basically pepper in a bottle and not in a good way if i wore this with my girl she will not stop sneezing from how prominent the pepper is. I love 212 and Herrera for men but this is not for me.

Picked this up dirt cheap and while not totally original, overall a pleasing summer time frag. *Shrugs* gets a shaky thumbs up by me.

This drys down to something very similar to Terre D'Hermes. Very dry vetiver with pepper. Surprising to see how this bombed given the success TD'H and this predates it.

When I was caught up in the CH MEN Hype and found out about this fragrance I couldn't wait to get my nose on it. When I first smelled it I was blown away...by how generic it was. I don't mean cheap smelling by "generic" although with this scent that's a strong debate. It just smells like it could be any scent made by any brand. It's almost a wonder why this is a CH MEN Flanker because it doesn't have much of the DNA of the original at all. They just made a completely different scent and slapped the CH MEN label on it...

I've come to realize that 9 times out of 10 when a fragrance has among its listed notes "Sea Notes" or "aquatic notes" red flags begin to scream at me "leave it alone". And for good reason...Most scents with Sea or Aquatic notes have no distinctive qualities at all. Also because "sea and Aquatic notes" is such a broad term, scents with them come across smelling like nothing and everything at the same time. It almost seems like this is Carolina Herrera letting people know "look im an aquatic...U like Aquatics...Buy me". Im convinced the use of terms like "aquatic notes" is more of a marketing tool than an actual ingredient.

The pepper and vetiver in CHMS is very prominent. The spice of the pepper though tries to make it interesting. But the citrus and "aquatic notes" is where it falls apart. The blend is just not that good. Smooth doesn't describe CH MEN Sport.

CHMS comes across like a chemical explosion. Cleaning Fluid-ish wouldn't be a far fetched description. I know Im really putting it over the fire but it is such a lack luster release that I struggle to find many redeeming qualities to discuss and I have to be honest. There are so many fragrances for warm weather that does what this tries to do far better. It is very inexpensive but owning the even cheaper Nautica Voyage makes this purchase a bad one imo. U would rarely use this over Voyage other than to get rid of it.

If one did this the best time to feature it is in the Spring and Summer...It doesn't last forever but it does have decent longevity (for a bland aquatic) 6 hours with below average sillage after the first 2 hours. To me this would fit a teenager perfectly. And Im not advocating young people wear crap. But if you are young you could wear this and it wouldn't have an adverse effect on how you come across. Young girls wouldn't hate this on you. However to anyone over 21 with more than 2 bottles in their collection this scent just won't add to the image or impression of the wearer.

Simply Put: CHMS is a very lazy effort which doesn't smell completely horrible but won't enhance any collection.

5/10- The only reason I'd not give this a lower rating is because it could be useful to young guys in casual settings during hot weather. The classic Cool Water, Chanel's Allure Homme Sport or the cheapies Perry Ellis Red and Nautica Voyage are far better choices if one were looking for a scent with that AQUATIC thing going on.

Smells fresh with a little "sweet and creamy" touch, wich distinguishes it from other summer/aquatic fragances out there. It's balance between sillage and duration matches it's purpose, and I really like it as a summer/spring scent, particularly for afternoon or night situations.

Nothing special about this one. Average aquatic that is ok for the warmer weather. Not a bad aquatic, just not anything different IMO.

Very different from other sport fragrances - very smooth, long-lasting, and did not change too much in character over the course of the day. Excellent!

Another great creation by Carolina Herrera. Honestly I don't smell any of those synthetic aquatic notes that most of the "sports" flankers boast. Indeed, this fragrance is quite different from the original CH for men as it lacks the sweet cinnamon and vanilla hints. Sage and juniper notes give the fragrance a strong character and sophistication while the citrus sparky notes make it perfect for those who are not into a very formal environment. This fragrance is designed to be worn both in the office and in outdoor settings. IMO CH Men Sport is one of Herrera's most accomplished creations.
