Reviews of Cool Water Woman by Davidoff
It was fine for its time, but the formula feels a bit watered down now. Low performance. Pretty much what I expected. Maybe worth a sniff if you’re killing time at the airport but you're not missing much.
This is the stereotypical fresh, blue frangrance (with all its ozone) going towards something sweeter (watery fruit/vegetable). Unisex in my opinion, with average performances.

I really love this fragrance on a Woman. I really do!! Maybe it reminds me of when I was in my prime?? It is surely nothing spectacular and is almost quite generic but I find it very feminine and quite seductive.
The initial citrus fruitiness, with a prominence of unripe lemon on me, gives way to white floral notes, with lily-of-the-valley in the foreground in the drydown.
Later a nonspecific woodsy impression emerges, with a fruity vetiver signifying the final stages.
I get moderate sillage, adequate projection and four hours of longevity on my skin.
A spring scent that is not bad, but too synthetic and its components too generic to enthuse. 2.5/5.

I took a very long, and much-needed break from this little blue bottle. I had to, or I would have never been able to look at it again. I wore it so often in the late 90's, that I swore I'd never touch it again.
But, I felt nostalgic this week, and so I purchased a small inexpensive bottle for old-time's sake. And I'm glad I did.
Ok, so I have more refined taste now. Does that mean I can't go a bit more retro and enjoy something I once thought was delightful? Can it not still give me an olfactory jolt? Of course it can! It cannot compete with some of my more elegant choices, but it has its place, and I'm glad to bring it back to my wardrobe.
I think for a while I've thought that if I "graduated" to big girl fragrances, perhaps I had to leave all the old behind. What I realize is I don't really want rules, as I am unlikely to follow them anyhow.
Maybe it's an association thing, but this scent will always remind me of cool fall evenings in Wilmington, NC on Wrightsville Beach. I lived there for a while, and that's when I began wearing this. I think of the beach, and until recently, I never knew it contained any melon. Now, I'll be trying this with a more learned nose...this could go either way. I've only sniffed it, as I was already wearing something else when it arrived today, but I'll add more once I give it a proper wearing.

I got a sample vial for my 40s wife because I had read some good reviews and some friends rave about it, and was unimpressed.
I realize that it's light, but it's too light. It's almost like paying for expensive water.
I'm being generous about the neutral, only because I guess for what it is, might find a place in some peoples' collections. Not ours.
Still on a search for something similar with a bit more reasonable projection and longevity.
I would at least strongly advise an actual skin test for a day or two before you buy this one to be confident in your purchase.

Cool Water Woman ranks as my least favorite fragrance in existence. I've tried to like it, been terrorized by near and dear's daily wearings of it, and have no recourse to criticize those wearings because it's "inoffensive" and "nice." No, but there is so much nicer to be had! Nearly anything has more character. Hygienic sportiness is done better by classic chypres and greens. Rather than these chlorinated coffee shop chain fruit cup concoctions, why not iris, mint, lavender, or simple citrus cologne for a refreshing fragrance theme?
Cool Water Woman's melon or calone dominant note is fuzzy and large like an orange cartoon beast in the corner who is trying to hide behind fables of beach scenes and waterfalls. All I smell here is fermenting fruit salad. The various lotus and water lily notes only add to a strange, stagnant poorly-tended swimming pool tone. With images like that evoked, I'd think this could at least be an interesting fragrance, but it's not; it's just trying to be clean but coming off as rotting.
Fresh and clean aquatic scents appeal to many in hot weather, but please at least go light on the trigger with this one. A little dab will do.
Many perfumes I love are not well-liked these days: they're old-fashioned. Cool Water couldn't be old-fashioned; merely outdated, and that's after less than two decades. The fragrance equivalent to shag-carpeting, though released two decades too late in the null 90s (if only it never had been released). If you really like aquatics, Missoni Acqua does everything Cool Water purports to do but with more style and at close to the same price.

This, ironically, smells nothing like the prevalent and best-selling Cool Water for men. Your opinion of Cool Water should have no consequence on your decision to buy this. The male version is aquatic with musky and lavendar notes. This scent is predominantly citrus, which is absent in the male version.
Overall, favorable, with the above caveat in mind.

This perfume tops my 'most hated scents' list. Such a disappointment when I loved the male version so much.
This was a horrid blast of sourness and nose burning acidity. It beats me as to how people can wear this. When the horrible top notes mellow all I get is a boring, predictable water scent.
Nothing exciting about this what-so-ever.

First I have to say... I don't think that the women's version of Cool Water is as good as the men's. Cool Water Woman is a pleasant fragrance; it's primarily fruity, ozonic, and synthetic. The fruitiness that I get comes mainly from the black current and melon, and these are what mainly contribute to the synthetics as far as I'm concerned. As to the synthetics: they're related to Cool Water for Men which is the first synthetic smelling fragrance that I actually enjoyed. Cool Water for women has the same type of enjoyable synthetic feel except that there is too much fruitiness for me. I find it primarily linear on my skin, and the drydown gradually loses its attractive syntheticness and grows cheaper smelling. At first it has rather a strong sillage but it quickly settles down to a normal intensity. It has excellent longevity. All things considered, it's an attractive fragrance.
This Doesn't last on my skin unfortunulybut i love the ingredients from this perfume lotus melon citruses fruits quince lily of the vally the con is it make my nose burn but the pros to this is the colorthe name that represents a great perfumefor the beach it brings out the vibeof the deep ocean.Swmining with the fishes.
It's a floral aquatic, soft and a very refreshing scent. It starts off with tangy citrus with the hint of fruitiness in it which is very refreshing as the citrus are not like a blast but they just make you feel fresh. It is like as if you are given a chilled glass of freshly squeezed lemon drink in a hot afternoon. The heart settles in aquatic floral way just like as if various flowers have been just cut and have been placed in a huge glass bowl of fresh chilled water. I like this stage very much. The dry down has a prominent note of vanilla with a hint of musk and blended with soft sandalwood. I don't detect any vetiver however, it must have been added to give some prominence to musk, sandal and vanilla.Suitable for all occasions, anytime but should be worn in the day. As the citrus smell refreshing in the day time.
I remember enjoying Davidoff Cool Water on an ex, and mentioned I liked it, so was bought the female version for a Christmas present one year. However, the female version is nothing like the male version. I do LIKE the smell, it's very inoffensive and conjures up imagery of oceans, seas, water etc hence its name. It is a NICE smell, but nothing earth-shattering. On a sporty person, I think this would smell nice, especially after a shower. I won't be buying again though as it doesn't suit my personality.
For boring and generic women who are afraid to stand out. There's such an offensive note in this, it makes me physically sick....yuck!
Picked this up by mistake - thinking it was the well touted original. PLEASANTLY surprised....a nice aquatic with light citrus come-on. The melon/lotus notes are not overpowering and the underlying florals sustain nicely. This is a floaty summer dress kind of frag on me and I'm glad I made the mistake!
I really like this perfume on women. It gives me impression that the women is clean and elegant.
Once you get past the very astringent top notes, it settles down to be something very fresh and clean. It's a little bit too masculine for my taste, but women who want a simple "just out of the shower" scent would like this. It dries down to a sweet soapy scent after a while.
A fresh, sweetish, nonoffensive scent which I don't love as much as I used to. This scent is a chameleon as it smells different to me depending on my mood. Sometimes it smells like watermelon flavored Bubblicious bubble gum, and other times I notice something resembling a cheap men's cologne that is unpleasantly vague and synthetic. I like to have this in my collection as it's classic in its pretty bottle. But as it's no longer a favorite perfume, I mostly just use it as room spray.
Just bought it yesterday, as a heat wave was sweeping across the East Coast. I figured it'd make a good scent for the warmer days. So far, I like it. Nothing too original, but pleasant, fresh. Some days I don't want to stand out. I put it on at 9 a.m. and it's now 9 p.m. I can still smell it, although it's pretty weak now. Overall pretty satisfied with the purchase. Not the scent that will make you feel special, though.
I like how airy this perfume is. When I wear it, it is usually a sunny day and I am going out walking in the town with friends. It is defenitely a fun day perfume. I wouldn't wear it at night, at night it smells kind of synthetic. I have been complemented when I wear this perfume. I like how it smells fresh and reviving. I like the citrus adn sweet kind of scent. I hardly wear it becuase sometimes it hurts my nose as to how pugnant the fruit scent is. I defenitely have to be in the mood for it.
Just vile! I hope it's the chemistry doing a trick on me, otherwise it shouid be banned!
Probably one of the only perfumes women should wear. Very sensual, prestige smelling, and good for all age groups of girls! I reccomend this!
i find it fresh and sexy....the sharpness wear off quickly to a subtle and nice perfume.... honestly, i used to apply very small amount of it with my main fragrance and it was really a good mix .....
This is the only scent by Davidoff Ive ever worn. It's pleasant, but nothing too surprising about it. Some days that's exactly what I want. To me, it's a "safe" scent that I wear about once a week. I have had compliments on it, too.
