Reviews of Desire Blue by Dunhill
It really took me a while to get Desire Blue. After trying it several times, I finally get it, and I like it. It's a more tame, less spicy, and more youthful Desire. It's Desire's DNA with, toned down, with the addition of citrus and creamy vanilla. It gives off an orange creamsicle vibe, over top of the spicy Desire DNA. It makes for a layered fragrant experience, in this somewhat complex but very easy to wear scent. It's probably the best Desire in my personal opinion; and it's the only flanker that contains any trace of the original
I definitely pick up a flowery watery mixture on the first spray. It's almost like a mixture of Nautica Voyage maybe even Cool Water because of the orange notes. It's a nice cheapie, i wouldn't buy again. Not impressed. I like the light, mossy, watery feel of it for aroumd the house.
Sillage is very mild on me. Haven't test longevity.
A decent walmart pickup, I suppose.

Not too bad. It's a toned down version of Dunhill for a Man (red bottle), yet has a fresh quality that sets it apart at the same time. There's that walk on the beach thing going on in this one, a bit like Dune by Christian Dior IMO.
I believe that the fragrance world hit a bit of a wall between the late 90's and early 2000's... there are 100's of men's releases that were "Safe" skin scents that didn't project nor last more than 3 or 4 hours. This was the time the "Metrosexual" term popped up... That is where I would categorize all these fragrances "Metro". This isn't a bad scent just similar to so many that were and still are on the market that are a safe scent for office wear.
A synthetic aquatic as has been mentioned by others. I absolutely loved this when I first sampled it back in the day. Resampled it recently and it is very chemical and potentially harsh. Versace Eros is very similar to Dunhill Desire Blue in my opinion but has a higher class of formulation. Overall this suited me in my naïve younger days but these days I would steer well clear.
I ve never smelled the red one but I blindly bought this one since I was looking for a blue aquatic for training...
I am not disappointed but I was expecting something different,it is absolutely SYNTHETIC
it is indeed blue the feeling you get, like other reviewers said it smells like fabric softener and CHEAP etc...
I have to add one more idea, I am not a smoker but I get something that smell like the packet with cigarettes before they burn!
All in all I personally wont buy another bottle for sure, and I think that there are much more better quality aquatics for the price.

I hate to.recant on anything but after a few weares of this its just ok no great . Not a head turner by any means . I still like to wear it sometimes but now im starting to get the laundry soap and babypowder thing . Its not a stink but i wouldent put this on at date night or anything special . Hay i payed for the bottle might as well use it . I would have to say the opening is great . If the whole sent stayed like the opening ide keep it thumbs up .
great projectivity and longevity. a great aquatic/citrus hot weather scent. the orange blossom is really a kicker here along with bergamot and tonka. great if you are tired of cool water and acqua di gio...
A fresh fruity fragrance. A lot like Silver Scent by Bogart in my opinion. Desire Blue is a good one from Dunhill
I have always been a fan of the Dunhill line...Xcentric was my signature scent in the late 90's and early 2000's. After it became difficult to find, I switched to Desire Blue (having never owned the original Desire). Yes, it has that aquatic note - and it's a summer blue, but it is far from the familiar light blue fragrances that have become so commonplace these days. Desire Blue is powerful and different - and has musky overtones that I do not get from Versace EF, Chrome, D&G Light Blue, etc. It's super masculine and versatile. Ladies seem to love it. Great projection and all day longevity.
While I find myself wearing this a lot less than I used to as my tastes have changed over the years, I still really like Desire Blue quite a bit. It is just about the only aquatic scent I can tolerate. It is sweet, but never cloyingly so and strong enough, but inoffensive allowing for all-around use. I get tremendous longevity with this one and strongly prefer it for its versatility over the original Desire (that can be quite overpowering and way too sweet, IMO). Great overall value here at the low price this one can be had at. As for the scent, I rate it a very good 3.5 stars out of 5.
the lighter fresher brother of dunhill desire for a man it starts off with a lighter and less heady fragrance as dispensed by its brother and ends with a lasting non cloying sweet aquatic accord that is wonderfull on my skin, it has good projection and smells the same close up as it does from a distance, its not headache inducing and it draws good remarks, a versatile fragrance good in hot or cool conditions,
A masterpiece by Dunhill. I just LOVE this fragrance. Its not overtly masculine but smells sophisticated and I remember getting compliments from the ladies with this one. Comes in a lovely bottle. One of my favourites.
blind buy from a friend with no expectation at all..to my surprised,it have a very nice smell..distinctive top notes,a bit sharp to the nose but the drydown is excellent..will consider repeat buy in the future..
Luxurious and classy laundry detergent? Yes, and extravagantly fragrant. Blue radiance.
A non-headache inducing aquatic version of Dunhill Desire. Very clean, almost soapy smell. Longevity could be better. Would buy again.
a great blue scent that starts out very citrusy and drys down to a very oceanic soapy scent with nice fruit and light musk notes found it at tj maxx $26
Only the top notes smell interesting. On my skin the base notes smell horrible. Poor longevity. Good for those who like the aquatic/fresh genre of perfumes. Nothing great.
To me, this is quite a nice frag. It is an aquatic but not common and ordinary by any means. Stands out in the crowd because it is so "fresh" smelling. Whenever I have this on people will always ask what it is. YES, this has received many negative reviews on this site but guys keep in mind one thing......it smells "MANLY". I have nothing else to say.
I am some sort of fan of the original Desire, but for some reason this irritates me a lot. Perhaps it just smells too simple, sweet and bubblegummy fresh. It does smell a lot like some cheap fruity body-lotion crap. There are interesting and good smelling (synthetic) sweet scents, and then there is stuff like this.
Smells like traditional powdered laundry detergent. It's sweet and quite "blue," however anyone who has ever smelled powder detergent will more than likely associate the smell with Desire Blue. I just can't get past it.Smells good, but I don't want to go around smelling like I used a whole box of detergent to wash one load of laundry.
Spicy lemon turns to a nice and ordinary aquatic. Not bad but not to fall in love with...
Next to the original Desire, which I adore wearing, Blue is really top notch in Dunhill's collection despite being a copy of Nikos Sculpture. Very versatile and long lasting like the original Desire as well. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed this briefly, but as I learned more about fragrances, began to detect a "cheap" feel to Desire Blue. Have a near-full bottle if anyone is interested in a swap...
