Reviews of Gucci Flora by Gucci
Opening with a lot of citrus, half mandarin half lemony with peony. Personally love citrus and big fan of peony, but not loving the whole combination in this bottle. Impression was lemony and leather like on my skin.
Time tested: winter
Colors I think of: yellow and black.
Silage: 3/10, very weak.

The opening is peony - centred,
but on my skin it is rather thin. The rose in the drydown is all right, quite generic, as is the light and nondescript patchouli. Admittedly it is neither overly.sweet nor cloying, and that is good. The sillage is moderate, projection ok and I get five hours longevity.
Not a scent I am excited by. 2/5

Flora smells to me like an old-school chypre after a board of sales consultants demanded all the leathery and animalic elements be replaced with cheap wood and chemical sweetener. Not too bad but it bothers my nose in the first phase with some sweet powdery attack particle. Good for floral fans that can't stomach the older stuff.
I have the EDP and I love it. Starts off sparkling mandarine, bright and soft citrusy, very lightly spicy and a floral heaven. Sadly, it fades out too quickly and has vanished to the wind after 30 minutes on me, although it lasts a bit longer - about 2 hours on my daughter. And this is the EDP. The only reason I won't replace my bottle is the lasting power. the neutral review is for the lasting power on me. Otherwise I love love love the scent.
My sister was/is crazy about this one so I bought it for her wedding in 2010. Needless to say, I'm not crazy about this one but also I can't bash it too much, however it's not a very inspiring fragrance, not to mention it's price which is quite undeserving for what it offers.
Unfortunately i agree with the negative reviews. What to write? Really a boring and mediocre olfactory work. At the beginning some tart citrus (mostly orange), green apple (at least in my perception), peaches (may be), some greens and a bunch of undiscernable floral patterns. The dry down provides just hints of musk and chemical amber/vanilla in order to disclose another example of synthetic fruity/flora boredom.
VERY sweet. Syrupy and irritating.
Hint of vanilla.
Cloying, dense, unpleasant.
Smells like sugar cube with floral syrup poured over it.
Shallow, unattractive.

As others have noted, skin chemistry plays such a big role with scents and this is one to try before you buy. I have a sample EDP of this one and have tried it multiple times. It is just not good on me.
The opening is sweetly floral but smells very synthetic. Then the scent goes into "way no" territory as it begins to smell like White Rain hairspray. Fake floral sweet that is tremendously unpleasant.

A relatively good floral scent but not worth its relatively high price tag if you are on a budget.

Obviously skin chemistry plays a vital role in the evolution of this fragrance but I must say it's beautiful on me. I was bewitched when I first encountered it on a friend and HAD TO HAVE IT... however, I have smelled it on another friend and I just didn't like it, couldn't believe it was the same fragrance. Someone above mentioned that it was not at all floral, whereas I would describe it as an incredibly floral perfume that remains floral well into the dry down and a little bit of a musky/powdery fragrance emerges and sits nicely with the floral... I can detect the rose and peony quite strongly but that's fine, because I love both of those :)
It's okay. On first spritz it is pleasant, dries down okay then all I got was a sharp urine smell - quite astringent and acrid. I was not impressed. This was on a card though so perhaps it needs to react with skin for that note to take a different form.
There are hundreds of better frags to spend my money on. If someone said - here's a bottle for free (ie a gift) I would kindly accept it - but I wouldn't buy it for myself.
Sad to see this is the replacement for Envy - which is a far superior fragrance. This is just basic flowers without the heart and warmth of something like J'Adore.
On a lighter note - the Eau Fraiche is okay - poor sillage but I keep it on my desk for a freshening up (amongst about 10 other samples...)

Nice, is a good word to describe Flora by Gucci. It's pleasant and clean but rather boring and safe.
While obviously aimed at the younger market, Gucci chose to use a simplistic floral composition of citruses, peony, rose, osmanthus, patchouli and sandalwood. Not what I would call a daring combination.
At the time of this fragrance's release, most of the world was heading into the warmer months, however Australia was going into Winter. Because Flora is so light, fresh and powdery, I don't expect that this fragrance will be a best seller this month.
I would have liked to have seen some stronger floral notes such as; jasmine or orchid added to this fragrance to give more of a kick and depth to the scent. The scent as it is now is far too common for it to be oustanding.
I'm disappointed that this fragrance turned out to be so mainstream. With a name like Gucci, they could have easily gotten away with experimenting with new and unique floral combinations. Here's hoping that their next release, which is also rumoured to be aimed at the younger crowd, is much more daring.

This is very disgusting. Flora smell like a concentrated synthetic orange juice, very sweet and intense. I can't believe a fragrance could be so cloying. The only thing i love from Flora is the commercial. The edt is more wearable.
The negative reviews are clearly directed at the EDT. The EDP is a different creature altogether. The citrus is still muted, but the florals are amped up, way up, with a texture that feels surprisingly petal-like and velvety to me. While I found it hard to pick out the rose or the peony, I must say the osmanthus adds an interesting accent to the central floral accord which may come off sweet at times but always intensely floral, if not a little crude. And with its amazing sillage, astute applications of FLORA would probably leave more than a few guys bewitched in its lovely trail. I know I was.
A very unpleasant, in-your-face burst of chemicals, followed by a woody-patchouli drydown. Not floral at all! Thankfully it's all over before too long.
Reading all the negatives here...and, actually, I KINDA agree until about 2-3 hours later: POOF! it became NICE! I got into my husband's car and he said, "Umm what are you wearing?" I had forgotten it, probably subconsciously wanting to forget it since I wasn't that impressed earlier in the morning. But then I put my wrist up to my nose and lo and behold Gucci Flora had found a friend in me. I know, I know, all above say it has no dry-down. But on me there evolved a soft, delicate, mildly sweet, mildly powdery, mildly fresh and clean musk, even sexy, a very nice "skin-scent" type of fragrance. Hm. who woulda guessed? Skin chemistry is truly fascinating stuff.
I am shocked to read the negative comments about Flora. On me it smells very nice and I have declared it as one of my favorites. Especially the way the floral beginning softly dries down and then lingers on in a clean cut classy way. At first whiff, I compared it to the freshness of Chanel No. 5, another favorite of mine. Not at all disappointed, and if the rest of the world does not like it, I do and have received compliments about it. A fresh, young and almost sporty scent, perfect for the Summer, for a luncheon with the girls.
Such a disappointment. I smelt this and thought it to be a nice citrus and floral scent. Within only a few minutes it seemed to lose all the top notes and faded into something indistinct - but it wasn't nice. Thankfully by this time the entire scent was almost completely gone.
This is a transparent floral that boasts citrus (I get that), peony (where?), rose (what?), osmanthus (I get that), patchouli (surely you are kidding!) and sandalwood (mmm maybe). So this is a kinda citrus osmanthus that drys down to...not much. And it is sweet, really sweet. In some ways, this reminds me of the spineless friend of Chaos by Donna Karan. It's not bad, really, but it's not that good, either. (I should disclose that I am not an osmanthus fan. And if you are, try Osmanthus Interdite by Parfums d'Empire. It does the same thing, only better.)
Flora is an interesting name for the sour, sharp scent of sweaty armpit hovering over a sweet gourmandy/oriental base... There doesn't even seem to be any floral notes in the mix, though I suppose it's actually some floral notes creating that odd armpit effect. Now, I don't usually mind skanky or animalic fragrances, but old arm sweat is not the most pleasant of body odours.
Nice floral scent. I'm just missing that extra oomph to make it my HG.
A big disappointment. First, a blast of sparkling but sickly faux apricot, like one of those stodgy slice cakes with plastic-y fruit fillings and dubious, slightly rancid fat in the flour. Then, a boring floral accord with nothing to distinguish it from a hundred hundred thousand others. A triumph of mediocrity. They forgot to add a dry down which is perhaps why it's so short-lived. Wanting to capture the Britney market I suspect. Yawn.
