I can definitely detect vanilla, orange and blackcurrant. It's pleasant, though not a girly frag, has a slight masculine quality to it. Reminds me a little of the male Diesel Zero Plus

I really like this fragrance but something about it is really relaxing . Really relaxing! As in spritz, spritz, spritz and very soon ZZZzzzzzz.....so it's getting placed in the bedtime scents in my collection. I just spritzed a few minutes ago and am virtually holding my eyes open with toothpicks to write this quick review . Night all!

Just like a Paperback novel If you could read my mind, love, what a tale your thoughts would tell. If I was about to write a steamy scene for a paperback novel this is what I would wear. I bought it about the time it came out. It shared shelf space with Samsara, Cashmere Mist, Tommy Girl, Eau D'Issy, Paris, and Knowing (not to mention the old faves that are part of my retinue) It plugged a gap when Samsara was too daunting. I was just picturing the time and what was in my garden at that time. I wore it in a winter that froze pipes in some unlagged homes. It attracted the attention on my niece who bought a bottle for herself and that surprised me because I thought it a mature women's fragrance. I used it all, which is a good sign, it didn't join the Dead Marshes collection. (Reference is Lord of the Rings) At the time I loved wearing it and if one was able to pick it up on sale somewhere I'd grab it. Sexy, sultry, not overpowering but does get noticed. Don't know if it has lost to reformulation in the last decade.Pros: Alluring but also vibrantCons:

Forgettable, and quite synthetic. Used to be stronger and warmer, now the sillage is almost gone and the longevity is poor. After more than ten years of its release, Deep Red is no longer deep... nor red at all, exept for the tacky bottle.

The blackcurrant is hidden behind a blust of blood orange that smells sour in despite the effort of the massive brand to compensate the blend by adding more vanilla. The musk is still somewhere, but only contributes to stop the fragrance to develope and for that remains quite linear on skin, as if was paper.

Smell and learn, right?

A quieter, simple combination of the vanilla in Obsession and the Eucalyptus in Body Kouros. I'd wear this without hesitation regardless of erroneous gender marketing. However it's gone in the the blink of a nostril.

This should be called Deep Orange because on my skin
I get a blast of Juicy Oranges and Mandrian I expected something more deep and intoxicating worthy
of the Color that made men drop to their feet when a
Madame comes struting and use her wiles
for suduction or in the middle ages people feared it was the symbol of the devil and mortal sin but instend it's tame with no silage it fades within 15 or 20 min I would like it to have more spices mixed with incense with pomergrate to fire this up it's not bland but nothing to wright home about.

It may not be entirely original, but I happen to really love this fragrance. It is the perfect fruity floral for women who are searching for something that is young and sexy but nothing like the cheap-smelling fruity scents on the market. It is surprisingly sweet yet warm and seductive. It's not a fragrance that will make you feel girly and cute, it is more likely to unleash the sex kitten and rouse up the men than be innocent.

I love its unique blend of blackcurrant, spicy vanilla and ginger which is so comforting and feminine on my skin. The fragrance is also very versatile; it could be worn both day and night and is best suited to colder seasons. The lasting power is great too.

Deep Red is such a sensual and almost orgasmic fragrance and one that I can imagine wearing with a tight-fitting black dress and killer high heels on a night that a girl just wants to feel and look stunning.

I haven't worn Deep Red for a while but I absolutely love it. It's warm, sensuous, bewitching and (I think) subtle (I've read a lot of reviews here saying it's overwhelming but maybe it's my nose, I find it rather subtle and very warm up close). The only downside to this for me is the sillage which is really poor. Otherwise, sophisticated in an understated way to me - I would've thought it was an oriental though, not a floral - again, my nose may be bung!!

I thought I liked it when I smelled it at the department store, but it's far too synthetic/"perfumy" for me...If it smelled fresher and had a more natural, softer dry-down, I think I would really like it.
Anybody have any suggestions for a scent that has a kind of sweetness like this, but a more green, fresh smell?

I can see how many women would like this, but it really doesn't work for me.

Update: I wore it again today, because even though I detect a synthetic quality to this fragrance, it doesn't feel sharp or soapy. I really appreciated this today because the fruit shines through and the fragance doesn't devolve into a boringly pure vanilla-type deal. I think this doesn't last terribly long, and it seems to be very low-sillage.

Update again:Black currant, vanilla, boring...fail.

This is a great fragrance. I think it definitely has notes of vanilla and musk. Every single time I wear it, I have complete strangers walk up to me and say, "Gosh, you smell wonderful/great/sexy!!" (etc.) This is a fragrance to wear if you want to get noticed. I agree with another comment that it is pungent and lasts quite a while.

A wet and juicy opening that feels excessively sweet, is followed by a much more wearable phase. It dries down into a smooth, wood and vanilla paste that avoids being too cloying. Eminantly usable in all but the warmest weathers, and one of the better offerings from this underachieving company.

it was the only perfume I regreted that I bought. When I first tried I liked it, but than, I lost it, it was nothing special, a bit annoying and low lasting power....

One of my favorite womens perfumes, I make sure my wife has plenty on hand, she also really loves it. I told a few friends at work about it and they have since purchased it.

My husband bought this for me as he nearly bought it for himself when he detected it across the store from the fragrance dept, testament to its strength! It is bold and sexy with a spicy warmth - I only wear it for initimate dinners and night time outings. It has great longevity & lingers on my evening wear. The bottle is simple & bold and this style also appeals to me :DI am now on my fifth bottle - it makes me feel sultry, sexy & adventurous.

I think it is a sexy fragrance, and as so well Goddess_Dreams put it - a very temperamental one! I like it, but I don't love it, it has some burnt plastic background smell that does not agree with me completely.

I really loved this scent a couple years ago. I was heavily into it, when I met my BF and surprisingly enough he wore it also (he thought it was for men, haha!).But I agree with elm0505, both my BF and I tired of it a few months later.

It's sexy and provocative, with some vanilla, freesia and fruity notes. A year ago I was absolutely in love with Deep Red, but a few months later I ended up finding it non-interesting and artificial, although I don't dislike it yet. I just got tired of it. There's only a few mililiters left that I'm going to keep on using until I finish the bottle. I don't think I will buy it again.

I have a samlpe vial of this and I like it ok, but it's nothing I'd go crazy over. It's a very pleasant vanilla, a little spicy, which I like, but I have many other perfumes that I can't live without.

I love the smell of this, and guys always give positive comments about it. It's powerful yet light at the same time. I'm almost finished with my bottle and will get a new one online pretty soon. It's great for date night and feeling sexy, confident and fiery.

Does not smell bad, but the problem I had with this was that it stayed too strong for too long. I could never get by with it in the summer. I got a great deal on a set and liked the scent so I bought it. I ended up giving it away because it was too much for me, and 95 out of 100 scents are not. Usually they have no staying power on my skin.

I don't even know what the exact notes are that I like in this; it just smells sweet and mild (but not meek), and I feel good wearing it. It's one of my boyfriend's favourites on me.

When you first try this is smells more like an oriental than a fruity concoction. My hubbie liked it from the tester, then when I bought a bottle it smelled different. Nice but try more than once before spending the bucks. The lasting power is nil on my skin.
