It reads more as cedarwood than incense to me. It’s too clean and woody for me to really call it incense, and I don’t get much smokiness either. Maybe there’s a touch in the opening, but after an hour or two it settles into a clean cedar. It feels somewhat one-dimensional and could be underwhelming if you’re expecting a strong incense presence.

It fits well within their main line, since those fragrances tend to be soft and inoffensive. This is something you could easily gift. Best suited for spring and fall—too soft for winter and a bit too woody for peak summer. Even though I describe it as woody, the wood here is light and transparent, with clean white musk in the background. It’s a simple, uncomplicated scent, but likely underwhelming for enthusiasts.

Just another relatively non-descript, church-y incense fragrance with some smoky notes. Begins with cedar & balsam-y notes and morphs into incense with some rising smoke. The smokiness however, is not acrid & harsh like smokiness can be with other "incense" fragrances. This characteristic makes Incense City a tolerable wear., albeit a mediocre one. But in the end, Incense City is still a linear, church-y, incense fragrance with wafts of rising smoke.

All-in-all, this is a pass. There are too many nicer & more complex incense fragrances out there for me to settle on this one.

A very nice smoky incense scent. Unisex, maybe a bit more masculine leaning. Not churchy, just smoky and a bit woody. Not shouty, hums politely on my skin. I like it a lot. I also like the possible word play here: Incense City / In Sin City. The scent reminds me of Matthew Williamson's Incense (without its medicinal opening) a bit, and that one is discontinued, so it's a very good thing this one exists.
