Island Life for Him
Tommy Bahama (2014)

The name reflects the feel of fruits and spices of an island getaway. I am perplexed that there are no fruit notes or rum mentioned in the composition but they are there to my nose. If you like Bay Rum type scents you will probably like this light and not obnoxious version. Not my favorite from the Tommy Bahama line (why the heck did they stop producing the Original Tommy Bahama for men?) but still it is decent and titled appropriately. Perfect for Summer.

Other than a pretty cool bottle, there isn't much going on in this one. It opens with a lot of bergamot and lavender, a ton of nutmeg in the mid, and a slightly woodsy but still very nutmeg heavy base. You really need to like nutmeg as a solo note to enjoy this one, which I do not.

Fresh, fizzy, and clean but cheap-smelling tropical scent. Almost a soapy-clean and has a shower gel lean to it but it still smells pleasant. There's also a little bit of spice to make it somewhat interesting. Good for casual/warm weather wear.

The big issue is the performance on my skin, the projection is poor and longevity is worse. I suggest many sprays and on clothing to improve performance.

Smells like Hollister Jake. It's a real compliment getter too.

It's so cheap, you can safely blind buy and not be out a lot of money if you don't like it.

I'm getting something more piney than cedar in this. But it is more woodsy than aquatic to me. Not a beach scent. A little bit on the sweet side, so it could be unisex. More soapy sweet than floral, though. The bottle design alone is probably worth getting this for. A definite break from past Tommy Bahama products.

Bad, boring garbage. Smells like a thousand other "fresh" fragrances. Pass.
