The company say:

Cats. Love them or hate them. There is no in between. But everyone loves Kittens!  Now after 15 years of effort, Demeter has captured the olfactory essence of the warmth and comfort of that purrfect spot, just behind a kitten's neck.

I think I found a way to get the most out of Kitten Fur and round it out. All cat-obsessed people know the smell of a cat that has just cleaned its fur and has curled up in a sunbeam on top of the dryer to delight in a snooze and you bury your face in the fluff to inhale. Not the musky smell of a wet cat. It's a slightly honey mead, dusty, cashmere woods type of smell and it's extremely fleeting. It can't be detected unless the cat has just groomed its fur laying in a sunbeam. Maybe this scent is a compound in the cat's saliva. Not sure on that one, but there IS a specific scent. This formulation from Demeter played with the smell of a hot dryer and a plastic laundry basket and the dusty element of the fur as well as a touch of very dry vanilla. I could probably find the same smell in a cashmere woods dryer sheets but thankfully this smells a lot better than cashmere woods.
So to round out Kitten Fur, I blended it with Saffron and Frangipani. It really works and the combination is intoxicating. I wear it to bed every night and enjoy the coziness of this fragrance combination. Many reviewers have combined Kitten Fur with Condensed Milk and I can't wait to do the same. I was so surprised that I actually liked this fragrance. I love Clean Reserve Sueded Oud but this may be my new favorite blending fragrance.

A slightly sweet accord with a green undertone, with hints of vanilla and caramel, sich a slightly plasticine component.

In the drydown I get touched of new suede wallets, but then towards the bases white musks developed, which became the dominant feature of the base too.

I get moderate sillage, good projection and an excellent longevity of nine hours on my skin.

A pleasant scent for spring days. Very synthetic and a tortuous progression to what eventually declares itself as white musks. Am I getting kittens? Fur? Are you kitting? 2.5/5.

A bit of a floral-musk of which I cannot name the flower. It's kind of greenish. A hint of fuzzy leather. More musk. Soupcon of vanilla... My grown cat, always smelled like "nothing" so this, is definitely a fantasy scent. A cashmeran note moves in later. It is odd how the "notes" keep changing as time goes on. I even get a lipstick accord later! I also get something a little minty and spicy. Maybe, this smells like the typical little kitten, who is always rolling around, getting "into" things around the house. It's been too long since I've had a little furball. I'm sure my little buddy was always smelling different [memories evade me], with her surroundings, smells, etc. Too perfume-y to be an animal scent. It's cute though.

Fortunately, this isn't spot on, and it doesn't smell like kitten fur. This is leather and tonka and vanilla. And it's very good! Sillage and longevity are good as well, specially for a Demeter.
