La Vie est Belle Éclat

This is honestly my favorite flanker (that I’ve tried… there are so many!) of La Vie Est Belle. It is also the furthest removed that I’ve tried, to the point where I think this could have been a new pillar. It’s very orange and orange blossom forward for like the first 20 minutes or so, then that toned down a little and the jasmine comes forward in the dry down. There is also a hint of rose throughout, though it’s just a whisper. And the base has a woody quality. I don’t think I would have immediately thought of sandalwood though, as it’s a little cedary to my nose. This perfume is sweet, like the original, but it doesn’t have the same vibe as the original. It’s more of a sweet fruity floral with woody notes.

I love it. It puts a smile on my face every sniff. And it also performs the way we expect a flanker of La vie Est Belle to perform.

Sudden testing as my niece has a sample of this. I rarely review women frags, but from time to time why not? This is not bad.

In initial wave it seems as a version of Armani Stronger With You, but that disappears very fast and becomes a typical, modern, floral scent for girls/women.

Surprisingly it's not overbearing at all. Very decent, heavy but not too heavy, sweet scent.

Floral notes and vanilla are very dominant, synthetic but not overly so.

Nice choice for girls and women that don't want to send the message loudly.

Gorgeous bottle, decent ladies' perfume inside that.

Lancome's La Vie Est Belle Eclat is a rethought version of La Vie Est Belle, leaning more floral than oriental with the original. Flowers are present and shape the overall profile of LVEBE, with jasmine sambac leading the charge. Gone is that immediate gourmand sweet experience of LVEB, though this Eclat retains a brightness that shows it has some of the originals dna.

A more conventional perfume that is fresh and lively, lasting a long time. If you opt for a more intense and syrupy sweet effect, go for the original.

This is longer-lasting and more potent than the original. I compared both, one on each hand. Hours later, the eclat was still going strong. I am reminded of the potency of perfumes in the 1980s and early 1990s, but in a good way. I love the alligator texture bottle. It looks great in my display case! No regrets buying this. Normally I don't care for flankers, but I like this better than the original now that I've owned both.

I can't give this a neutral rating, but it's a bit boring. Your usual sweet floral. You've smell this many times. It's not cloying. Gourmand and fresh. It can suit anyone.
