Reviews of Lacoste pour Homme by Lacoste
Can't believe I didn't review this before. A versatile, somewhat sporty scent, but in a crisp, outdoors fashion, rather than a ridiculously sweet or aquatic way. I remember it as good for work - fresh, but long-lasting. I'll have to try it again for old times' sake. A very solid purchase for the price. Flankers generally worth avoiding, if only to save on confusion.
Weak and inoffensive. Woodsy scent, didn't develop much. Good work scent but doesn't last long.

Smelled this one today out of curiosity. It isn't a complete disaster but it is by far the worst scent I've smelled from Lacoste. It immediately reminded me of Davidoff's Silver Shadow with a hint of Armani Code. A warm, orangy, synthetic and far from modern scent. It's sweet in a strange, powdery way and more suitable for men in their 40s in my opinion, just like Silver Shadow.
No idea if it's true, but two saleswomen at two different stores told me that Lacoste fragrances aren't selling well, especially since P&G and that there will be less and less Lacoste fragrances until the brand vanishes from this market. I hope not, because I really like what they did with the L.12.12 series.
Coming back to Pour Homme, I give it a 3/10.

Nothing remarkable but still nice to wear. Starts off with nice citrus but the drydown is standard fare for modern scents with vanilla being the most prominent.
Projection and longevity are both very good. Lasts all workday.

My first favorite, just wish it lasted longer. Get a lot of vanilla in this. Just great all around for spring and summer.
If you can smell ALL that is going on with this, then consider yourself among the lucky few.
Versatile, this jus. It is simultaneously sporty as it is fresh and crisp in the opening, while being sensous with the vanilla cinnamon rum combo in the base.
Might cause nose confusion tho, which can bring about frustration. So I simply enjoy whatever it presents to me on the day I am wearing it.
Bottom line: safe, fun, attractive office jus that works well for night activities.

A reliable, predictable scent from Lacoste. The dominant notes are the vanilla, interwoven with the rum and woody notes. The citrus elements are muted and add basic support to this oriental composition.
Lacoste pour Homme is a flexible cologne, fit for any occasion and throughout the year.

I wish I could smell what others describe when reviewing Lacoste pour Homme. The accounts are inconsistent, but most of them sound interesting. I've put Lacoste pour Homme through several wearings myself, and I'm still not sure what to make of it. The bright apple top note is one of the nicest I can recall smelling, but the quiet accord of clean musk, cedar, and very lightly spiced vanilla that follows may actually be too shy for its own good. In character it vacillates between a fresh, light cedar sports fragrance and a vanillic woody oriental. There's potential here for an enlivening tension between styles, but in the execution is so muted that Lacoste pour Homme feels more indecisive than invigorating. It's never more than a skin scent on me, and it disappears altogether within an hour or two, leaving only faint traces of laundry detergent musk and cedar. Anosmia? Bad sample? Beats me.

I'm mixed on just how much I like this one...sometimes I love it, sometimes I just like it. Really interesting opening: a little synthetic, a little sweet but not overpowering. It feels like a "clean" scent, something I could wear to work comfortably. Settles down really nicely on my skin. I feel like I can wear this scent any season, any time, no problem. It's unique, haven't smelt something that makes me thing "this is clean" and "this is sweet". Decent projection and longevity. Wouldn't suggest as a blind buy because it is a rather unique smell that I can see some people not being into. 7.5-8/10
I don#t know what to say about this one... I bought it because someone told me they liked it in their teenage years. I was pretty disappointed with it. It only smells sweet, i can barely recognize anything in it... it's just isn't mine.
In style and smell reminds of Burberry Men, despite the apparent lack of originality, a very good scent. This fragrance is incredibly "friendly" which can't be said for many frags. The tea note and spices are strong, the tea note being stronger than in Burberry Men and also musk is quite more dominant in Lacoste PH. As the drydown slowly creeps in, one can easily get reminiscence of Bvlgari PH Soir albeit without that certain mediterranean character Bvlgari PH Soir contains. In any case, I'm pleasantly surprised by this scent, despite the fact it's not "original".
Figured someone needed to break the chain of negative reviews on this one...
Lacoste PH is essentially versatile sophistication in a bottle. Right off the bat it seems like a fragrance for the office and casual-business. However, when worn a few times, one will realize that it is not that inflexible. Rather, it is a sophisticated fragrance, but "fun" at the same time. It is masculine, with a subtle sweetness (not the sweetness you would get from Rochas, A*Men, etc., but instead a more natural sweetness that you would get from any fruit).
It is a tad bit synthetic, but definitely worth buying, if not, at least trying.

LuciusVorenus' review says it all, but anyway I'm going to add that I found Lacoste pour Homme metallic, synthetic, overly sweet and headache-inducing. It's just too much of a good idea. Rum? Who the hell wants to smell like rum? With grease and brown sugar dissolved in it?
This scent is utterly useless. As long as the original Jaguar exists, this should not. Fruit opening with some spice notes in the middle that run away like from skin like frightened cats within the hour, leaving behind a sort of lemony vanilla drydown that makes banality seem desirable. P&G seems to have given the Lacoste fragrance line the full 'New Guy in the Prison' treatment.
Purchased this in my early twenties, it fell out of use over the years, and I recently rediscovered it in a drawer (now in my early thirties). I gave it a test on my skin and found it was just far too sweet and the vanilla/fruit too strong for me now. I tried to wash and scrub the fragrance off my arm several times, but it was very persistant. It is not pleasant for me on my skin, the odor just got to me. Very long lasting and decent projection if you find that it works for you. I gave this bottle away to a co-worker with a college bound son. Surprisingly, almost universally, women liked it, too bad I couldn't bear it myself.
That's a lot of ingredients! Actually there's only apple vanilla and juniper if you search for it. Smells VERY cheap. I tried it beacause some people said it's fruity. Not true. Smells old, boring and actually weird. What a composition - sweet vanilla and juniper which reminds me of forest. Plus the synthetic a'la hugo boss apple. I don't recommend it, very disappointed.
Lacoste Pour Homme is a very well constructed and balanced citric aquatic that though not innovative or uniquely original in conception, is outstandingly executed and one of the best aquatics on the market.
The beautiful opening of citrus and apple integrates very well with the juniper and cinnamon that never offends and manages to hold a very reserved and balanced personality without ever overwhelming. One of the best uses of apple I have come across in a fragrance, it seems to give the grapefruit a bass from which to balance it against the spicier middle notes.
Incredibly pleasing, becomes somewhat linear once the vanilla ripens over the middle and top notes, but the vanilla only seems to add a creamy note without losing its balance or becoming overly assertive. The sandalwood and cedarwood make for a light foundation that allows the vanilla and musk to come through unmolested. This give Lacoste Pour Homme a lighter feel but because the scent is so well balanced it doesn´t detract from the overall scent in the slightest.
Incredibly versatile, pleasing and refined.
Longevity is not bad, 5-6 hours is the standard, though on some skin chemistries this one never goes beyond a skin scent after the initial thirty minutes of application so a blind buy may not work for everyone.
The epitome of well executed, well blended and organically based.

Was a great free acquisition. This scent is my go to when I don't know what to wear from my collection. This scent has great projection and longevity. It can be worn all year round just be easy on the trigger during the hotter months. I smell the plum, apple and vanilla through the entire scent. It gives me a mysterious feeling. I was completely surprised by this Lacoste fragrance. I wouldn't go out and buy another one but it was easy worth it for free.
Overall 8/10

Very deep and rich fruit, pepper and vanilla scent. It's the best Lacoste I've smelled so far and it's one of my favorites of all time.
Excellent projection and longevity on me.
If it's a bit colder you can wear this anytime. Relatively safe, but different as well! :)
LOVE IT!

Lacoste pour un tres jeune homme.
"Jejune": devoid of significance or interest, dull.
How many times have I smelled this sort of scent? Many, many... too many.
Sweet, simple, smooth. That's all.

When I started wearing frags seriously (bout 4 years ago)I had no idea what I was getting into.At the time I couldn't even pronounce Lacoste ( i thouhgt it was lactose, like lactose intolerant).Anyways even when I had no real frag knowlegde I thought this was superior.I am literally at a loss for words when I try to describe this scent.I am a man of strict stanards. This pretty much exceeds all of them(as far as scents go).Try before you buy.My only suggestion.
Yeah, I see that there is vanilla in there. I can just smell the creeping sensation of cedarwood and sandalwood dancing in the background. But there is something not included. Something someone forgot to add. Oh yes, caramel. Very manly, very tenacious and intriguing caramel. You may be thinking, lolwat? Trust me. The good people over at Lacoste have apparently made a deal with the devil and somehow managed to not only make the smell of Caramel and Vanilla manly, but they have made it irresistible too. It must be the Jamaican Rum talking in this bad boy, but it is no joke. This is the kind of wonderful scent that even manages to transcend seasons. Wear it whenever you feel like it. It's that cool.
MASTERPIECE!!!...........good perfume for men.......CLASS +ASOPHISTICATION +AWEARABLE DAYIME/NIGHT +AMYSTERY +ASCENT QUALITY +A5/5 rating
Synthetic, sweet fruits. Better vanilla fragrances out there. I don't know what Jamaican Rum smells like so I can't comment on that one. I'm just unsure of what I'm smelling in this, but it reminds me of sherbet, that sweet edible fizzy powder. It's just OK.
