Latest Reviews of Lamar Noir
A dramatic fragrance really hard to be in detail described. Kajal Lamar Noir is a dramatically tropical-oriental piece of fruity-suedish velvet introduced on the market in 2024 (and created by Patrick Müller), definitely a supreme exercise of dark arabesque fruity resinous suedish silkiness in the same clan as Rogue Perfumes Eau de Parfum Tropical Oud (tropical fruits, oudh, suede), as Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade 2018 (oudh, rose, geranium, honeyed notes, juicy fruits, resins, benzoin etc, being Lamar Noir anyway fruitier, silkier on suede and with some gluttonous and more juicy intense fruity-caramellous twists) or Niche Oud by Mauzan 2021 (a fragrance with fruit, leather, oudh and warm amber tones but probably with more spices, leathery tones and resins/incense and less of the caramellous gourmandish sweetness) plus some fruity/woody/musky/spicy elements vaguely conjuring the old Shiseido Feminité du Bois 1992 and redolent juicy musky creations a la Bruno Acampora Nero (2011). Noir is a supremely dark and sultry fragrance (finally velvety and enigmatic) starting off bright and tropically juicy, then evolving into something deeper, luscious-gluttonous and more brooding due to a mix of sweet warmth (honeyed notes, luxuriant dark florals plus spicy balsamic patterns) and smoky/leather-suedish woods. The fragrance undoubtedly follows the popular unisex trend of fruity-tropical blends with a floral boldly balsamic honeyed heart and a oudish base, a trend that has become increasingly popular in recent years among lovers of charismatic resinous/caramellous tropical fragrances with an extraordinary trail. Returning to the perfume itself, after a fruity and sweet opening, the fragrance continues its evolution quickly revealing its "dark" side, first moving through a balsamic, almost smoky rose, before reaching a soft leathery finish, made even more sensual, animalic and long-lasting by the oud-note. Both Lamar and Lamar Noir are juicy tropical musky flory-oriental fragrances but while the original Lamar (2020) is a lighter, more fruit‑floral, radiant and “happy” fragrance (juicy fruits, sweet floral, warm woods, lot of "yellow" muskiness) Lamar Noir keeps the sweetness but adds honeyed depth, vanillic/benzoinic richness and a darker presence of woods and leather-oud, making it a more intense, evening‑appropriate statement scent. If you like Lamar but want something heavier, more dramatic, sleeker, Lamar Noir gives you that extra resinous shadow despite losing the bright purely tropical radiant twist. In conclusion Lamar Noir is a bold modernely dandy-urban (neo arabic) nocturnal fragrance, with a strong projection and good longevity, ideal for seducers in dark, starched, classy tailored suits who prowl under the cover of darkness through the enigmatic meanders of the hidden megalopolis.
P.S: excellent deep black square bottle with elegant edges casting out an aura of elegance and mystery.
