Reviews of Love's True Bluish Light by Ava Luxe

Show: All Reviews
This is one of Ava Luxe’s most revered scents, and for good reason. A cold vanilla musk with hints of sweet milk, it is immediately likeable. The basic thrust of the scent is a skin-like Egyptian musk accord, its translucence clouded by drops of vanilla milkshake. And like milkshake, there is something a little too sweet or sticky about it as it melts. But boy, that initial blast of icy sweetness is just wonderful. Love’s True Bluish Light runs very close to Au Lait by DSH Perfumes, as well as to examples of cool vanilla musks found throughout the indie perfume oil sector, most notably Crystalline by NAVA and Snowshoe Pass by Solstice Scents. Highly recommended for people who want an emotionally remote rendition of musk and vanilla.

A very nice, natural vanilla, this. Not unlike Tihota, but done with a much lighter hand. To begin with, there are subtle woody, ambery tones, & at around the three hour mark it dries down to a smooth, white chocolate-like accord. It slowly fades to a skin scent over around eight hours.
This one isn't piercingly sweet, & I don't really get musk here, unless it's of the white musk variety, but it's not obvious to me. It's not a heavy gourmand, but it's comforting in a delicate & gentle manner. If this fragrance were a fabric, it would be the softest, fluffiest towelling robe, rather than a thick, furry blanket, & so it works quite well in warmer weather.
Definitely worth a try for vanilla fans!

The golden thread running though this creation is vanilla. No, not the usual, sweet, direct or eccentric in your face vanilla. It is an unusual vanilla that is restrained, always enmeshed with other componenents, never intrusive but equally not particularly restrained. A very fine vanilla indeed.

This vanilla is changing over time. Initially it is interwoven with a fine, light amber, which is soft and pleasant. Then a gentle white musk is its accompaniment for a while, and toward the ends it assumes the flavour of a glass of tepid milk. All theses additional notes came and go in numerous permutations, like variations of a musical theme.

The performance, in all its gentleness, is astounding. The sillage is moderate, the projection good, but the longevity is amazing - thirteen hours on my skin.

This is a surprising and thoughtfully creative twist on the vanilla theme, an elegantly restrained and airy twist; not the usual vanilla as the usual heavy central hitter in a mix of fragrance notes. Not large cumulus clouds, more life fluffy gentle cirrus as harbinger of good weather. 3.5/5

Beautiful emotive vanillaAva Luxe's Love's true Bluish Light not only possesses one of the most beautiful names in perfume , to me but also a very special nuanced vanilla scent. The white amber adds something extra special to this and I love it. This is better than many high end and pricey niche perfumes and certainly beats any department store plasticky vanilla scents. it's grown up and thoughtful vanilla and at the same time retains something child - like. Wonderful and emotive. Moreover, Serena Ava Franco adds her extra special touch to this perfume. One of my old time favorites and always will be. Tenacious and lasting in all forms. Pros: Lasting ,gorgeousCons: None !"

Reading the reviews indicating that this was vanilla/dough/musk/bread, I thought this would be a perfect scent for me, but it's not. It's really, really milky which I wasn't expecting, and as someone who hates the smell (and taste) of milk, this was an absolute disaster on me.

The smell of sour milk drowned out any of the other notes listed, and meant that I had to wash the scent off as it was making me feel unwell.

I'm not sure if a fragrance can formally be classified as "cute", but in my opinion, this perfume is adorable. It is not cute in an over-the-top, cliche way like a basket full of kittens with pink and blue ribbons around their necks, but it is charming in a warmly eccentric way--like a little hedgehog in a polka-dot bowtie. The initial impression from the bottle is that of vanilla, but also a lot of fresh bread. It stays that way on the skin for about two hours before fading completely. This is a linear fragrance that is not challenging, complex, lasting, or demanding, but it is unusual enough with the bread note to assert its place in my heart as a darling little vanilla amongst the plethora of vanillas that try so hard to be sexy.

This may very well be my favorite fragrance - it's a beautiful, sensual, extremely wearable perfume. It starts with a lovely vanilla note and, after a few hours, settles into a warm musk with a slightly sweet, almost milky, tone. LTBL settles in close to your skin but has enough sillage that somebody standing close can still catch a whiff long after application. Everytime I wear this, which is pretty much daily, my husband always seems to find an excuse to sniff me.

I am rather new to the Ava Luxe line. My sense that Ava Luxe as a house is rather non-fussy still holds with LTBL. It is a vanilla-amber-musk, with vanilla being the prominent note. However, when I compare LTBL to other vanilla fragrances (Lavanilla, Maison de Vanille), I must say that LTBL does not knock me over (in other words, asphyxiate me) with the vanilla. It is not a complicated fragrance, but it is warm and pleasant, and I think probably great for layering. I can see why it is a favorite. Now I am wondering if Ava Luxe has something like Coty Wild Musk :)

This reminds me a tad of Stila's Creme Bouquet, but softer, and more well-rounded. The sweetness is clearly at the forefront of this scent but it is balanced by the milky and musky notes. Very pretty.

Wore this for the first time today, and it is lovely: soft, warm, sexy vanilla with hints of amber on my skin. I'm not getting any of the musk other reviewers mentioned, but grownup, sensuous and not too sweet for such a vanilla dominated scent. Lasted eight hours on my scent quenching skin without broadcasting too much. Delicious!

This sensual fragrance begins in a very sweet, vanilla-ish manner ~ seeming at first a bit timid and fleeting...but just give LTBL a little time to mature on your skin and you'll be amazed at her tenacity. I could still clearly smell that gorgeous musk nearly 24 hours after application! It is soft, close wearing and stays fresh too. Comforting. Truly a polite and beautiful fragrance.

I went from 'mmm ho hum' to 'OMG - gotta get me some of this!'. I love this milky vanilla/musk/amber scent. It is now one of my faves in the Ava Luxe line and I have ordered 30ml EDP and most of the body line. I do like gourmand frags - but some with a heavy patchouli (Angel) element or sweet (Britney Spears) tend to seem too young. This one gives a really sexy pulse of musk that says 'come here - I want to talk to you' instead of 'Oh yeah nah, whatever so cool like yeah'.Understand the difference. That's LTBL

I also adore the name but can´t remember it when asked. On me it´s a bit like TBS Amorito, some chocolade and a little musk and vanilla. Very yummy. I feel very vital smelling of LTBL.

A gorgeous, sexy vanilla with just enough musk and amber to keep it entirely adult. I have this in the EDP, parfum and stardust body lotion, and it lasts wonderfully well. Also good for layering.

I am loving this one, The vanilla in Love's True Bluish Light thankfully veers away from the sweetness of so many other scents and the whole thing settles into something sensuous and inexplicably green on me. I am not a big fan of the CSP line and yet, I find this one to be amazing!

I don't know about cuddly, but it's definitely an approachable fragrance. Not so sweet as to be girly, and not quite an ice cream scent, it's still the heart and soul of vanilla with just enough amber and musk to make it sexy. But not too sexy. There's still alot of vanilla there. Still, a wonderful white scent.

Love's True Bluish Light...it's a beautiful, sexy, soft amber/vanilla/milky (with a touch of musk) scent that's not too sweet and just surrounds you in a cuddly blanket of lovliness. Good for anytime, anywhere...long lasting as well!

Love's True Bluish Light is a sensual, vivid amber-vanilla that gets compliments every time I wear it. It's one of those irresistible scents that makes you feel warm, and sexy, and soft. I love to spritz it on my bedsheets.
