Neroli 36

First impression: Salty watermelons at a pool, and water balloons, kids swimming, and rose. This has a very ozonic smell, it reminds me of younger days when we went swimming on summer breaks. Very unusual for freshie territory actually, its quite left-field in my opinion. It has a lot of moving parts, after a few minutes i got a neroli coming in after the salted watermelons have been eaten. Actually this and Lavande 31 reminded me of those late 90s and early 2000s freshies, and i have a very soft spot for that time and style.

In my experience, this fragrance leans more towards jasmine and orange blossom rather than neroli. It seems that a reformulation is needed to bring freshness and variety to the composition. As it stands, the fragrance comes across as bland and overly simplistic, lacking the innovation that could elevate it to a more captivating level.

Neroli 36 opens with more orange blossom than neroli - top notes of a rounded full bodied orange blossom with hints of bitter neroli. A floral and slightly indolic jasmine note takes centerstage a few minutes later accompanied by aldehydes of the aquatic ilk. The overall composition is fairly unique and made with decent quality materials. If you want a blazing laser focused uber neroli fragrance this isnt it. Overall I like this indolic-floral slightly aquatic orange juicy composition.

Possibly one of the worst Neroli frags ever. Smells like cheap gas station cleaning soap. How is this still in production? Just Awful.

Neroli 36 is a summer/beachy type scent, but the beachy effect is achieved by combining some pale, wan florals with a strong synthetic-smelling marine/aquatic/salty note that is somewhat harsh and really dumbs the fragrance down, causing it to lack sophistication. This is one of several tropical/beachy type fragrances I test drove and the one I liked the least.

I'm fairly unimpressed. Neroli 36 doesn't remind me much of other neroli scents. There is a vague floralness, beachyness and loads of aldehydes. Anything good here is done better by Margiela's Beach Walk
