Latest Reviews of Neroli Portofino Acqua
The way this fragrance opens is what I always thought the original Neroli Portofino EdP should have done. The bergamot, neroli, and orange blossom explode and reach for the heavens. It is beyond alive and energetic. This what you want to smell while you're lounging by the pool in the hot summer sun, or strolling the beaches of St. Tropez and the Amalfi coast while the salty sea air wafts at your skin. The brightness, lightness, and breathability make it nearly impossible to not be happy while you smell it. This is, however, a cologne, and just as colognes should be this fragrance's life is massively alive and energetic and then it's just gone. After about three hours all that is left are the faintest touches of florals and white musks in a very close skin scent. Reapplication of a cologne is expected and normal, but, as this is Tom Ford, it's not priced like a cologne but is instead close to what one would normally expect to pay for a high-end EdP. You can't use it sparingly, but you'll want to because you'll just see dollars atomizing out of it. And, you'll note that since it was discontinued almost as quickly as it was launched, you won't likely be able to find another bottle of it except for nose-bleeding prices on the dubious aftermarket. Pity. For its all too brief life, on our skin and on our fragrance shelves, is still very much worth celebrating.
This is one of my top 3 favorite hot summer weather frags! The scent bubble I get from 3 spritzes of this is so good! For me it's like aroma-therapy, so nice and clean, relaxing and yet invigorating at the same time.
I know the original Neroli Portofino EdP is beloved by many, and preferred by most, but I actually prefer this lighter, more effervescent "Acqua" EdT version of Neroli Portofino.
This Acqua version doesn't last as long, but it's less expensive, and provides excellent projection. Although the original EdP smells fantastic, I enjoy the fragrance of this EdT version more.
After using 40% of my 50ml bottle, I managed to get a new 100ml bottle of this for less than retail cost of the 50ml of the original beloved (and now not easy to find) Neroli Portifino EdP.

The happy and summery opening blast is as simple as it is effective - lemon, lime, petite rain and bergamot - very traditional, very nicely done.
The drydown keeps up the uplifting warm-climate feel, with neroli, orange blossom and hints of oleander - Amalfi is greeting. The neroli smooth, and this stage is distinctly softer and also somewhat sweeter than the top notes.
The base is disappointing in compared with the earlier parts, and pairing the nondescript woodsy impression with the rather predictable white musks results in the complete letdown. This is particular notable as this house has created some of the best white musk fragrances in the past.
I get moderate sillage, good projection and six hours of longevity on my skin.
In spite of the substandard base notes, this is overall a traditional delightful summer creation for most of its earlier development. It reaches - just - a positive score. 3/5.

Great fragrance for women, but definitely not for men in my opinion. Maybe if you're a softer, smooth hands type of guy that works in a cosmetics department or is a hair stylist or something feminine like that for a career. Masculine men though, steer clear of this.
I received Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino Acqua' as a gift and was so excited to smell it as I couldn't believe someone would gift me such an expensive fragrance. As soon as I sprayed it, i knew it was special, but special for a woman, definitely not a manly scent by any means.
My girlfriend smelled this one and said wow that smells amazing, I would wear that'. She said it was definitely more for women, and although it smelled magnificent, it's just not for me. So I gave the bottle to her, and man she smells so wonderful.
Citrus, neroli, white musk, marine accords and floral notes abound on this. Performance is very good, and sillage is ever present without being cloying or offensive. Longevity is about 8-10+ hours with eight sprays (neck, chest, shoulders, wrists) and I can still smell my woman when she comes home from work.
I really love this scent. Although it is not for me or any masculine man, it is a very sexy and seductive fragrance for a woman. Highly recommended in that regard. Wonderful gift for mature women over thirty.

A "wetter" and perceivably lighter EdT version of Neroli Portofino. The Acqua version has added freshness and airiness via the florals, juicier and soapier with the citrus, more animalic with white musk (versus musk mallor, or "ambrette", in NP), and it feels "Bluer" as well.
Compared to the original, it is quite similar. In the end, the Acqua version feels like a more friendly, accessible NP for the masses.

This is such a beautiful and happy scent.
Perhaps it could be just a bit stronger.
Great stuff. I'm glad I purchased a bottle.
