The House of Worth was established in 1858 and soon its founder, Charles Frederick Worth was a reknowned couturier, designing dresses for European royalty, especially Empress Eugenie. The company remained a family business until it was sold in 1946 with all its salons closed a decade later. New reformulations of six of its scents were introduced in 2006. Including thee the House of Worth boasts only 31 scents, stretching from 1924 to the present day.

Construction of Projets is simple. There is only one top note: bergamot. The heart is made up of mimosa, labdanum and rose, the base with patchouli, oak moss, ambergris and musk.

This is a floral medley with rose and labdanum prominent. It very much resembles to my nose Caron's Fleurs de Rocaille, created the year before in 1933, with its somewhat sharp combo of muguet and carnation, notes not even mentioned in the fragrance tree for Projets.

Like the Caron, of which it may be considered a copy, it is quality, but not for all tastes.
