Sarah McCartney was aiming at a Ribena rose with this one and gets close – it's a Ribena rosebush, the leaves and twigs more in evidence to my nose than the flower. The blackcurrant pop – tangy, unreal and fizzy – is convincing and nestled in both greenish and dry foliage, but the rose is somewhat morphed, taking on the purple berried hue and perhaps affected by the citric boosters and the static of hedione. So, more a case of juicy juice rather than juicy rose as I perceive it – and a summer hedgerow. I find the drydown disappointing, a musky-fruity business in the manner of some of the less ambitious L'Artisan offerings.

Old rose smell - like back in the days when my mother grew them. It's intense but, not too bitter for me. Greenish, actually. A solid rose note hangs in the air as a singular note, as if it were sung, as a whole note in music, for many measures.

It takes forever before the other mixed up notes begin to surface. The rose, always floating on top.

I get the tiniest of fruit and wood. Rose, is the big-ass note here. I like my rose a little more tame these days. Perhaps a little sweeter. I think, Killer rose is far more superior. And actually, mix the two together, this one can be more fun.

Eventually, more fruit shows up and the rose settles down and I like it better. Rose then fades from my skin... It all becomes rather green, with a freshy note or two, moving in. Not bad overall - relaxes into a most gentle thing, a lady of high moral standards.
