Reviews of Rose by Czech & Speake
I find this Rose quite creative. Yes, it's mostly a nice, polite rose, but I like the way it's supported by unexpected notes. It's got hairspray aldehydes on top, which is a common classic combination, but there's just a hint of rubbery oud in there as well, and the combination of the plasticky aldehydes and rubber makes for a really interesting counterpoint to the rose. There's also a hint of dank green herbs, which I find a clever combination as well. I like that this feels straightforward but rewards close smelling. Thumbs up.
Crisp, green and... rosey, albeit with a marked geranium bent. No complaints from me, but if given three seconds I could name other roses I'd rather wear for their greater worldliness: Une Rose (Frederic Malle), Paestum Rose (Eau d'Italie), Nahéma (Guerlain), Rose Poivrée (The Different Company), Incense Rosé (Tauer), Black Aoud (Montale), Rose 31 (Le Labo).

Rose water over something soapy; perhaps a sprinkle of sandalwood dust if one is trying really hard. Nice enough, but a bit too simple to be a perfume. It's a cologne, they claim, but a bottle of rosewater may do just as well.
wonderful and very natural smell of rose with a soft patchouli at the background that is throwing off sparks on a low heat. It has a clean/soapy quality mixed with a slight retro feeling that makes it very comfortable and enjoyable.
I love it!

Opens up with a nice green and leafy note. The rose begins to creep in, but is a more subtle and lighter rose than used in C&S dark rose. This one stays the course fairly well and doesn't stray much from the green and light rose vibe. It is enjoyable, though definitely very feminine. While it isn't something I could wear I think it would be fantastic on a woman. Foe me, thumbs neutral, but for a woman this would be thumbs up.
This opens up with a very green, tart leafy note. A small, pink rose bud of a note slowly drifts in. The green note stays throughout the scent, with the slow drydown a greenish, woody soft and subtle close. The green opening is very tart, but the green of the drydown is dusted with a patch note, retaining the herbal qualities and adding to the woody effect.
This is a soft, straightforward pink rose fragrance. I enjoyed this, but possibly not for the price that this goes for.

This isn't so much a rose as anticipation of a rose. To me it's like a tight pale pink rose bud that is just beginning to unfurl it's petals. When I was small I used to try and pull apart the petals on these to get to that mysterious 'something' inside, of course I just destroyed the flower and never found it's heart. I killed the goose that layed the golden egg.I'm waiting, waiting for that rose to open and the anticipation is killing me, but just as it begins to throw itself open it rains heavily, bruises, turns brown and begins to decay before it ever reached the height of its beauty. It's a little green, a little sappy, a little sour and a little rotten, but by no means unpleasant. I do pick up a little carnation.Lasting power is not great, I have compensated by over-spraying and believe me, it IS possible to overdo this. I get a very positive reaction from strangers, people start looking around for the source of the scent and when it's been located I get big beaming smiles !Best applied little and often, it's very unfortunate that they only make this in whopping great bottles as a purse spray of this would be ideal for touch ups. Czech & Speake really are missing a trick with their insistence on magnum-size containers.I like it, but there are other glorious rose fragrances around, and I'm not sure I can justify the expense that a bottle of that size demands.
Delightful rose fragrance. Very simple and clean. Has more life to it than it's given credit for, as fans of this house tend to fawn more over Dark Rose and 88. This is a translucent, bright rose that gets some depth with an intermittent touch of geranium and something very green in back. This is more feminine than the other two scents and I think it's something that really only works on either an extremely metrosexual young man, or a young woman. Most men couldn't pull this off. But in terms of its aroma-therapeutic properties, I can say that it is truly an up-lifting soliflore to have. I imagine the bath oil that goes with it is very soothing. Thumbs way up.
This has a very green, crisp opening. When I say crisp, I mean crisp! It is like biting into a tart green apple. It moves into a rose note which is delicate rather than heady. It is a very green sort of rose scent, a bit odd if you are thinking of deep red roses and the scent they give. Eventually the rose takes on a more conventional character, and there is a hint of tangy patchouli.
Not at all complicated, and charmingly unaffected… Czech and Speake's Rose is a lovely feminine fragrance… as others have said, old-fashioned… simple… warm… Smelling it brings to mind the appearance of those flowery greeting cards from the Victorian times: Idyllic and pretty.I'm voting thumbs up because of the visual image of those greeting cards and the comforting innocence and loveliness of the fragrance.
A very well done, simple rose with a light green and woody background. The rose note itself is not too sweet and certainly not sugary. I prefer Dark Rose, especially in vintage formulation, but that's an entirely different ballgame. C&S Rose is completely unisex and wearable by anyone and everyone.
A simple English Rose scent and its beauty lies in its simplicity. A little too feminine and linear for me though. Most suitable if you want to smell like Jane Austen rather James Bond.
Well, it does smell like a rose. Moreover, it's not synthetic-cheap, good quality though completely linear.A good Mother's Day present, I think. Is there a Grandmother's Day?
Fragile, a bit of a waxy fresh rose early in the morning. Its June or July, there has been a small shower of rain in the night, and now the sky is crystal clear and sun is rising fast above the forest-line…With the notes like Bourbon Rose, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang, Mimosa and Patchouli C&S Rose doesn't offer any kind of surprises; it smells exactly like the one could expect. Authentic scent of this classic flower tinted with gentle touch of green-earth-like smell. I would feel silly and affected if I would try to write lengthier review out of this. This is a simple little fragrance.Nice, but not nearly worth the high price considering the fact that there are so much better rose fragrances available. For example, if someone is looking for genuinely exiting niche rose fragrance that is a bit similar to the concept of this, then I suggest you get a sniff from Rose Poivree by TDC. That one is a simple and straightforward rose too, but it is so much more vivid and rich. It is also very appropriate scent for men, too.C&S Rose is a female fragrance. I know there are people out there who don't approach to perfumes in genre-wise at all (and I partially agree), but if you're a guy and want to wear this, then….....I suppose I should try to hope you're happy.
This is a light rose scent. It is less complex than C&S Dark Rose. There is something in it which gives it a "sharpness", which appears to be common in many of C&S fragrances.
