L'Homme Rochas Aromatic Touch by Rochas

It’s somewhat similar to Rochas L’Homme (black bottle), but adds a certain earthiness that makes it more of a rugged masculine scent, whereas the other version is a bit more spicy and refined. I like them both. I just choose one or the other depending on the occasion.

Hugo Intense by Hugo Boss

This was pleasantly surprising in that it wasn’t just Polo Red amped up. It has its own unique character. I was expecting to be disappointed with some overpowering cinnamon-type blast. But that’s not what you get here. It’s definitely a masculine expression of confidence and if you’re not afraid of offending other peoples’ space (it has good projection), then it’s worth a try at the discounted prices I have seen. My only complaint is that bottle contains what sounds to be glass, but the red outer material feels like a cheap plastic. All in all, not bad.

Starwalker Extreme by Montblanc

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It’s a little sweet, but definitely masculine. Despite the name, it’s not too extreme. It’s the high quality type fragrance I’ve come to expect from Montblanc.

Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent

This was one of my most pleasant surprises! It has nothing sharp or harsh about it like original Kouros. This is a sensual, smooth, masterpiece that is both intoxicating and comforting. Last I checked it was reported as discontinued. Fortunately I found a good deal on a sealed bottle on eBay. Why do they discontinue their best scents? (M7, Rive Gauche, now this too???)

Rive Gauche pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

High quality classic. A very manly scent. It took me back a few decades. Sad they discontinued it.

Mambo for Men by Liz Claiborne

Not bad for the price. It has a certain Latin edge to it that is fitting with the Mambo name. It’s good to wear for casual daily use or to spray a few squirts if you didn’t have time to shower.

Jaïpur Homme Eau de Toilette by Boucheron

If you use a tiny amount it can leave a pleasant trail behind you after a few hours. However, it’s just too over-the-top for everyday use and would probably annoy a lot of people. At first it smelled like a perfume my grandmother would wear, but in small amounts after drying it settles down to a slightly mysterious scent.

Essenza di Zegna by Ermenegildo Zegna

High quality, distinguished, unapologetically masculine Italian scent. I wear it in business situations or formal gatherings.

Cordovan by Banana Republic

Sweet, but not too sweet. It’s definitely one I wear on dates. I get frequent compliments.

Dirty English by Juicy Couture

It’s an acceptable masculine scent to just have a scent on. It strangely has a hint of pencil shavings scents with a sort of leathery layer.

Burberry London for Men by Burberry

A winter favorite of mine at a reasonable price. I love the hints of tobacco and the just right amount of spiciness.

Bulgari pour Homme Extrême by Bulgari

One of my favorites for spring and summer. Its crisp and smells fresh all day with hints of grapefruit.

Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette by Chanel

Definitely the refined high quality one expects from Chanel, but it is similar to many other modern scents. An expensive “me too” product.

Black Diamond by Canali

Very sexy scent. Good for romantic nights. It has an undeniable masculine vibe to it, yet the sweetness is not too subdued. My bottle ran out a while ago and I’m so sorry to see it’s discontinued!

99 Regent Street by Hugh Parsons

This is a very useful scent for men in professional settings. It’s not too floral, too heavy or cloying. Rather, it makes one smell fresh yet refined with distinctiveness. It lasts a long time but won’t bother your co-workers all day if you accidentally put on a little too much. It’s my “today’s about business and being a respectful gentleman” cologne.

M7 by Yves Saint Laurent

I had to select neutral even though I like it in certain moods. One lady said it smelled like the chewing tobacco her grandfather used to use. Not much of a compliment. But when I’m depressed on a cold and rainy day, it feels like something very rich and warm surrounding me.

Allure Homme by Chanel

This was my all time favorite and they discontinued it! Just a tiny amount would sweeten and spice you up all day without ever being overwhelming. Very refined and luxurious. The confusing “sport” version isn’t even close.

Cabaret Homme by Grès

I was pleasantly suprised with this one. Cabaret is similar to Xeryus Rouge to me, although not as sweet. (thank goodness) It is crisp, but not too sharp or overpowering.
