Cologne Nocturne by Le Galion

A subtle fragrance. Elegant and sophisticated. Citrus cologne with depth and warmth. This gives me barbershopy vibes but it's also a chypre at the same time. The quality is impressive and the scent very addictive, evoking nostalgia without being dated. I would recommend it for a summer night out, smart casually or formally dressed.

The Man Silver by Milton-Lloyd

This is one of the very few one to one clones of YSL Kouros. It is not appropriate to judge it by how it smells because it obviously copies another scent. You can judge how accurately it copies the original though.

To my surprise this copies the vintage formulation of Kouros which to most people is extremely animalic. And it does it pretty damn well! For me this is the best Kouros available at the moment and for the price it is a no brainer.

I will start by saying that this fragrance is unapologetically old fashioned. But with a modern twist in it. It is fresh but also a bit sweet, sharp but a bit powdery, slightly animalic, elegant and mature. This is one of the most complex perfumes I have ever smelled. This complexity makes this very special to me, in a way that I only allow myself to wear it on special occasions. Another plus is its performance. I own quite a few fougeres and this is probably my favorite one together with Beau de Jour by Tom Ford. These two fragrances are like yin and yang to me. They serve the some purpose but this one is tradition that has modernity in it whereas BDJ is modern with tradition in it.
