The brief burst of black pepper in the opening is quickly followed (within seconds) by a very realistic-smelling mandarin & orange, underpinned by smoky woods. The citrus notes last for a good forty-five minutes, & there's the barest whiff of ginger, before it all settles into the base accord of smoky, peppery woods. lt sweetens very slightly in the drydown - l'm guessing due to the listed cocoa note - but it doesn't read as that exactly to me. Other than this there's no further development, & the moderate projection slowly fades over the course of around nine hours.

A nice one for the cooler months l think, & friendly enough to wear at work.
