Agharta fragrance notes
- Talc, Ambergris, Amyris, French vanilla bean, Japanese sandalwood, Cedarwood, Oakmoss
Latest Reviews of Agharta
On first wear, Agharta reminded me of Lalique’s feminine-marketed Le Parfum.
Wearing one on each arm, the similarities are evident, but there are noticeable differences, as well. Agharta replaces some of the smoky-boozy aspects of Le Parfum with something cleaner - perhaps it’s the oakmoss or talc, or perhaps it’s some unlisted musks. The sweetness in Agharta is also a smidge different - to my amateur nose there is some almond used in addition to vanilla, as there’s an almost cherry-like effect in the opening.
As they dry down, Le Parfum trends more in a woody-vetiver direction and Agharta more woody-soapy. The overall effect of Agharta is smoother and less aromatic than Le Parfum, and it sits closer to the skin (which is no surprise as I sampled the “aftershave/cologne”). Longevity, though, is very good.
I’m not a huge fan of strongly vanillic fragrances, and while I like Le Parfum, I tend to tire of it after several hours. I find that Agharta, on the other hand - despite having a similar profile to Le Parfum - is a much easier wear. Considering their price, either is a good choice for anyone interested in this DNA, but for me, it’s Agharta all the way.
