Uncanny valley monoi.
A slightly indolic gardenia tiare frangipani jasmine - essentially all of the Hawaii florals.
The top is lovely.

Unfortunately, the base turns into this astringent sawdust musk with a hint of sourness that is nauseating - particularly on nose-to-wrist sniff.
This same base is found in my new version of Vanille Abricot as well.
I don't remember Comptoir Sud Pacifique scents doing this terrible party trick.

I may need to go find vintage.
The new version, though lovely on first spray, just doesn't wear well on me.

Can I be brief with this one? I feel like leaving just a one-word review on this one, as
it smells just like some plastic beachy florals to me.

The opening is beachy and white flowers. Later the drydown is coconut and vanilla. Very feminine throughout, so don't think of this as a unisex beach/summer scent.

I get above average projection and longevity.

Bright, sunny frangipani, tiare, and ylang; deep, rich tuberose, patchouli. A smoldering wood-like accord. An almost metallic note here. Almost, a green vegetable note. Weird. Perhaps it's the benzoin and musk tempering the floral sweetness? The "earthiness" is just beneath the "surface". Vanilla, hovers above.

The ylang ylang and tuberose become prominent once more, as this settles longer. I'm not sure if I'm smelling water lily here or not - it isn't strong, if I am. Overall kind of nice fragrance.

white flowers gourmand Aloha Tiaré opens with a fizzy, sparkling, citrussy note that fosters fleshy exotic white flowers- frangipani and tiaré- while tempering their headiness. The evolution is towards a heart of tropical , pulpy fruit- peach, banana, coconut- and jasmine The drydown is an excellently balanced gourmand vanilla, signature of many fragrances of the house, with the right dose of sweetness that retains a certain resinous, honeyed, slightly bitter quality. Aloha Tiaré is a fun fragrance- you could imagine yourself wearing it at a party on the beach, with flower lei, fancy cocktails and so on, but it also proves pleasantly displacing when worn in an everyday context. The sillage and longevity are good, also in hot weather.

This is a floral with significant presence. The tiare flower has such a bold personality, that it was probably wise to underscore it with softer players such as vanilla and coconut. However, given its wholly assertive personality and density, it will repel as many as it attracts. I have some admiration for Aloha Tiare, but I had a feeling that it would eventually overpower me
