Latest Reviews of Amber
I often have issues with amber-based fragrances. I find many too sweet and cloying, with the amber note smothering everything else. The Anglia Amber is not one of those ambers. The amber here is more understated and dominates only in the deep dry down phase, and even then is not cloying, but balances with subtle hints of sandalwood and musk. The opening is surprisingly bright and, while not listed as a note, the totality of the opening notes strike a chord that I perceive as the presence of anise. The formulation seems a bit on the thin/dilute side, but the ingredients seem to be of high quality. Recommended, especially at the price point. There is a very reasonably priced sample pack available as well. Anglia also does a great take on many of the now sadly discontinued Crown Perfumery line. I've tried and enjoyed both the Spiced Limes and Russian Water (Eau de Russe).
