If you have smelled the EDT, this is the same basic sweetened tonka, but a bit more syrupy. Like its older sibling, there just isn't much to it, and it is gone in less than an hour. After hearing so much about this line for so long, I am deeply disappointed.

A.C has such a classic, classy profile...and it's completely baked into it's DNA. It just *is* formal...because it...is. I'm struggling to describe it in any other terms.

My only issue is that the opening citruses on top of the suede-y leather is a tad rubbery until the initial 10 minutes pass after applying. I'm really not sure why this reads as *rubber* to my nose, but it does, and I've tested it on myself and paper 3 times.

It has a fresh blue muskiness as it settles...where is that coming from? It's not citruses. It's like a body wash scent combining with the smoothness of the tonka...so it's blue&clean+soft&powdery all at once. This fragrance is full-bodied.

Without the blueness (And seriously, who cares, it's 2025, wear what you like regardless of gender!) I would claim this is unisex, but it's classically masculine and I personally don't feel like it fits me (a woman in my 30s).

I've never smelled this in public (but it should be noted that I don't smell much out there anyway in my area), so I cannot relate to the complaints that this is "overworn". It has a nice balance of warm and cool tones, rendering it a useful and versatile fragrance for most seasons (maybe not high heat, but summer nights would be alright).

I will say, this is tasteful, and very pleasing. Nothing challenging, but interesting nonetheless. If I smelled this on the street, I'd definitely look around to see who was wearing it.

Armani Code Eau de Parfum by Giorgio Armani (2021) is a phoned-in sweeter take on Armani Code/Black Code by Giorgio Armani (2004). and that's all she wrote. If you want more, then it goes something like this: By the 2020's, it became clear in the wake of MFK making bank on Baccarat Rouge 540 (2015) that sex no longer sells in perfume, sugar does. A litany of sweet flankers for every popular male fragrance range was thus manifest, a category that had already started getting sweeter in the 2010's with things like Paco Rabanne Invictus (2013) and Versace Eros (2012). Clubber fragrances meant to be loud and attention-getting had been sweet since their advent in the 1980's, with big neroli and/or honeyed benzoin notes sometimes tossed with amber; but this was different, and Armani Code Eau de Parfum is different.

The big gist of this is to jack up the vanilla and tonka, while toning down the floral core. A few years after this and the subsequent Armani Code Parfum (2022) both became super successful, the same re-balancing would happen to the OG eau de toilette, ostensibly altering the DNA of the line forever. Oh well, never was a fan anyway, so I can't say I really care too much, although I like the Parfum at least. You'll get a puff of lemon, then a fluffy cloud lavender acccord over nutmeg, tonka, vanilla, and amber, giving you a smell you'd recognize from any bar, pub, or club anywhere that men eager-to-shag go to try and scoop up on someone they have no intention of keeping in a long-term relationship. The 21st century smell of the "playa", Armani Code and its many imitators always compete for head room against Gaultier and Rabanne favorites in the same field.

Suffice it to say, I know I'm in the minority here, and I've said plenty of times that Avon did this better and before Armani did with their Avon Intrigue (2001), which is just a flat-out more interesting fragrance (spoiler: it's in the name), and worthy of asking the wearer what they've got on. Imagine the potential embarrassment of then making them admit they're wearing an Avon fragrance! Armani Code Eau de Parfum was the end result of seeing how people took to the precipitously-sweeter flankers like Armani Code Absolu (2016) and Armani Code Absolu Gold (2020). I wasn't much for those releases either, and nearly all the other "A-List" or "Ultimate" flankers L'Oreal cranked out on this path to shareholder glory. Neutral

A better take on the classic Code. A little spicier, a little sweeter. Better performance at least on my skin. The OG Armani Code was one of my favorites and this is definitely worth it if you are a fan of that fragrance. A remastered masterpiece .

Armani Code EdP marks a lazy effort from the brand. This is the standard Code (which has a beautiful balance of lemony freshness with warm leather, vanilla and tonka), but the sweet notes turned up a few notches. Effectively it feels Code drowned in vanilla and tonka. The result is a pleasant but bland and uninteresting sweet-woody scent. Not any discernible improvement in sillage or longevity either, in fact this wears closer to skin.

Armani Code Eau de Parfum is a sweeter/spicier/more soapy version of the original edt. An aromatic woody-oriental with lavender, musk, soapy cedarwood and prickly tonka bean at center of the village. Basically I'd say It is another kind of fragrance. The opening is a blast of fresh aromatic/musky lavender a la JPG Le Male (in a less minty vest) but with a darker twist and more citrus in the mix (orange in particular). Gradually a sort of bath foam-like (slightly talky) soapiness takes the stage with a role of protagonist. Lot of vanillic cedarwood, toasted (kind of vaguely smokey/peppery) tonka bean and muskiness with a great intake from aromatics. The juice itself is a sort of Ideal blend of the old Armani Black Code- in common bergamot, woods, tonka bean, suede etc- (but with a subdued leather-note, in here somewhat absent and without the olive blossom-presence), Jpg Le Male, Prada Luna Rossa Black and the venerable Ysl Body Kouros (but in this case with a less resinous twist). The general performance is more or less similar to the one of the classic EDT. I prefer far more the original Edt over this Parfum. Not so much to add.
