A hollowed-out, toned down version of the original Armani Code, and a brighter, fresher retake of AC Sport.
AC Sport was a nice active version of Armani Code original, and AC Sport Athlete is an improvement on THAT. It leans citrus for sure, with a beautiful touch of mint and a well-crafter vetiver in the base. Ambrox adds a sweet ambery note atop all of this.
Really nice, highly wearable scent that eclipses "active" wear and can be worn daily in casual settings at work or elsewhere.

It's a flanker of a flanker...so far I have found that these do better than the flankers themselves, and sometimes better than the original. This is the case with CSA. Citrus with a minty edge that is delightful. Bright, sweet and sporty. Athletic does fit strangely, since I don't know what an athlete is supposed to smell like. Smells good.
Just revisiting this Armani gem today. Truly the best mint/citrus scent that I've had the pleasure of trying. To my nose, this is a much improved and more wearable/enjoyable version of original Code Sport.
The balance of the mint and citrus is superb here, vs. the original that was a little rough around the edges for my liking. I kind of get the comparisons with the 2008 Dior Sport reference....except that the ginger is cut WAY back in this, which I really appreciate.;)
Normally I'm got a big ginger or vetiver fan, but the blending of this juice is so great and the focus is mostly on the mint.(and citrus) All the components come together lovely. The only real fault I can find in it, it that it is very linear....but hey, that's the case with most "summer" scents anyway.
Also this frag has some serious legs in the longevity and projection depts....no weak summer juice here! 3-4 sprays and I'm set, smelling uber fresh for a whole work day.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Since this juice was a limited 2012 release, prices spiked on it big time a couple of years back. But lately there has been quite a few new bottles for the normal retail price of $60-70. So not sure if a bunch of old stock was found, or if they started to produce it again? But either way, if your a fan of long lasting/well done mint/citrus scents....pick up a bottle(or 2:)before this juice disappears for good!
BIG thumbs up on this!

This is a very "nice" summertime sport fragrance.
Perfect for office wear, or when you don't want to offend anyone. Would also be nice as an after shower fragrance.
But, don't expect much more than that from this fragrance.
Yes, it's nice. The citrus and mint opening are invigorating. But the longevity is abysmal. This is excusable for a fragrance like 4711, which you can buy for pennies on the gallon, well, not quite, but almost.
If this were priced around $30 for 2.5oz, I'd say buy it and spray liberally. But, at $65 per 2.5oz, I can't recommend it. Scarcity does not equate to quality. This fragrance is no different. It gets a sold "meh" from me.

If you can still find this for a reasonable price, it would be a good idea to get it while you can. Armani Code Sport Athlete is the best designer citrus/mint fragrance around. Other significant notes include ginger and a mild, well-done vetiver in the dry down. This is sharp, bright and invigorating, and a significant improvement from Armani Code Sport. It feels light and crisp, but there's nothing thin or insubstantial about it. Projection is very good, and for a citrus fragrance the longevity is awesome. It lasts all day. Code Sport Athlete is an easy wear any time of the year, but it really shines in the summer. Next to Selection Verte, this is my go-to fragrance when I want something with mint and citrus fruits. Definitely worth hunting down for the right price and a completely safe blind buy.
