I was surprised by the opening—there aren’t many fragrances that can pull off a realistic banana note, but this gets impressively close. I get an olfacto-realistic banana bread accord, maybe about 80% accurate, which is still convincing. It leans toward the smell of overripe bananas baked into sweet bread, with a slight syrupy nuance, though the banana note is clearly the star.

When I think of maple syrup, I’m reminded of the drydown in Followed, and I don’t get that same authentic maple richness here. There is a general syrupy sweetness, but it lacks depth and realism. Unfortunately, the banana note fades far too quickly. Within 15–20 minutes, it’s mostly gone, and the fragrance settles into a fairly generic base—vanillic, slightly coconut-leaning, with sandalwood and soft musk. It comes across like a cheap body lotion at that point.

That’s the biggest letdown. If the opening had lasted longer, this could have been a standout. As it is, the opening is really the only redeeming quality—especially if you enjoy that ripe Cavendish banana bread scent. Performance is mediocre overall, and it feels best suited for spring or fall. Ultimately, a disappointing experience.
