Tested from a vintage bottle in a friend's collection.
I smell mostly old-school clove, a bit soapy and with a fair amount of musk underneath. There's a brighter floral in there as well, possibly jasmine, and a touch of vinegar, which I assume is what's left of a former aldehydic topnote.
It's quite nice, reminding me of Caron's Poivre or Nuit De Noel, but much less powdery and not quite as high quality, especially as the cologne concentration assures that Beau Catcher doesn't last very long or have a notable base. It's probably got more in common with Old Spice (the way the clove and musk combine to smell "meaty"), but it's also much less powdery than Old Spice. I wouldn't spend much on this for the sake of the smell, but it's certainly collectable for the campy name alone...
