Halston (1993)

Catalyst is almost a dupe for original Chloe. It is also very similar to original Halston - a classic 1970's floral cypre. Very nice, but dated. My bottle is an unboxed EBay purchase, so it is possible that it is either a bit 'off' or it is original Halston in a Catalyst bottle. I would say that Lagerfeld's Chloe is more complex and a bit deeper, but Catalyst is a good alternate choice for much less money online, although sadly discontinued.

I really am caught by surprise what i have everything read about this simply beautiful floral scent. This is no chypre, the base is smooth, elegant sandalwood, with its beautiful creamy sweetness, to my nose always pleasant, nothing bitter ,just easy sweet, and there are some green notes but they give the perfume airiness, not bitterness!
The main theme of this composition is tuberose, sweet elegant one that after maybe 45 minutes makes it resemble Chinatown from Bond no 9. Yes Chinatown:-) but greener and lighter version of it, lessened by the extra sweetness, the amber here is just touch sweet, everything is easy like a spring, airy, touch sweet touch green, no cacophony, no oak moss, no sharpness, very beautiful feminine scent. For lovers of tuberose!

Seldom do I find a floral fruity fragrance that is easy to remember, and rarer still would be one that I would wear. But Catalyst is a stonking wall of indolic flowers sweetened with just a hint of peaches and some amber in the base. I've read many claims that there is no sweetness in Catalyst, but this is not true; there is just enough sweetness here to structurally support the towering bitter herbal green. This is basically an old-school chypre without the leather. That said, women under twenty-five would most likely find this unwearable. Men over twenty-five, give this a go.

Floral green with a bit of stinky herb's and stuff. A cacophony,yes....but it's fabulous. Most definitely unisex. If you can find it, you must try it.

A huge thumbs up - way, WAY up!

This is a beautiful scent, very grassy and slightly herbal. A beautful touch of sweetness too. Very unisex and doesn't smell dated at all. Love it! It can be had for less than £5 for a 100ml EDP at the moment, a steal!

I wear this EDT & the Parfum and I love it. It's smooth, rich, and confident. I think this is a wonderful fragrance for gentlemen.
