Latest Reviews of Chance Eau de Toilette
Chance has snuck up on me and come to be my go-to perfume. I wear it in parfum, eau de parfum and eau de toilette. The parfum is ethereal, the edp seems richer and more sedate, and the edt is the carefree and dynamic one. And I love them all.
To focus on the edt, the notes seem quite spaced and distinctive (as opposed to more fused in the edp). I like that the base is patchouli but not heavy as some patchoulis can be. I also like that the floral bouquet of jasmine-hyacinth-iris is a bit offbeat from the usual patchouli-partner suspect (rose) and takes you in an unexpected olfactory direction. Top it off with the peppery, citrusy opening and you have a perfume that says “Get up and get going!”
I think of Chance as the non-Chanel Chanel. It’s way sassier than any other Chanel I can think of and at the same time after wearing it for a while, one can feel the underlying class and suaveness one comes to expect from Chanel.

To paraphrase whoever (Salinger maybe?) if someone comes out at me with this, I duck, brother, I duck.

Love this fragrance for warm climates, so fresh with a little zest too. Always gets noticed & compliments.
A very nice, fresh, fruity but not gourmand fragrance.
"Accident," I asked,
"That this smells like Coco Mad?"
"Not a Chance!" she said.

Opens with a chemical smell that thankfully goes away in 1 or 2 minutes. Then, although not listed, is a melon note mixed with the earthy smell of patchouli. Perhaps this is the vetiver. Jasmine floral is there as well, although if I had to describe the fragrance, I'd call it green. Nice if you like earthy patchouli, which I do.
