Coromandel
Parfum, Chanel (2019)

Coromandel edp is gourmand patchouli, while the parfum is a patchouli front and center. The parfum also features a more natural patchouli with its earthiness in tact, sweetened and softened by white chocolate and frankincense. One of my favorites from Chanel along with Bois des Iles, Cuir de Russie, No. 5 extraits and Le Lion, 31 Rue Cambon edp.

We have a bottle of this that is going down fast and we've decided to go for another one. And we got a big compliment on it in line at the bakery. It's like a cleaned-up version of Coromandel. Simplified. We like this parfum more than the edp. I like it as something in the tradition of Egoiste, a Chanel oriental.

Long lasting, fairly linear development on my skin but as the initial development is amazing, I'm ok with that.

I continue to enjoy Coromandel Parfum but I wanted to comment on one of the previous reviews. I had the same issue with the perfume bottle. When I tried to open it, the neck of the bottle broke off. I have the parfum in No. 5, No, 19, Coco, Coco Noir & Bois des Ilse but I never, ever had this happen with any of my bottles, only the Coromandel. Hopefully, Chanel has corrected the problem. It must be a know issue, because my bottle was replaced after reporting my experience.

I wear many fragrances, but few get the attention that Coromandel EDP gets. This version (Parfum) feels deeper, darker, and more masculine and perhaps more mature. It sits closer to the skin and doesn't seem to last all that long. However, for fans of Coromandel, this isn't to be missed.

Word of caution: upon opening the small stopper, the top broke off and went right through my finger. It looked like a crime scene. Never had this problem with Chanel in the past. Quality control? I exchanged it without fuss.
