This starts as a bit of tart fruit and shower gel—not bad but not really remarkable. But the drydown is worth the wait, and morphs into something woody and deeper, more musky mature, sexy, and virile. And it lasts as a rich skin scent for hours. Is it amazing? No. But is it very good for what it is and at this price point? Absolutely. It may be my new favorite easy reach—and it’s definitely up there with the best of the Beckham line.

Pratically a sort of classic Azzaro Chrome Edt (1996)-dupe (I'd say an heterozygous twin of the former sharing as well many common elements with the tarter Yves Saint Laurent Y 2017) but with less longevity, complexity, fruity exoticism and brightness. An "icy" metallic ozonic fougére with poor longevity and pale evolution. Grapefruit, volet leaves (as a reminiscence of the classic Lanvin for man), clary stage, geranium and musky cedary patchouli are the main protagonists of the olfactory twist. Fresh, minty-aromatic, vaguely aldehydic, musky and virile David Beckham Classic Blue is a supremely versatile sporty fragrance for men. A simplistic cheap little (but dignified) easygoing fragrance.

A fresh grapefruit note that has some extra sweetness added to it is followed by a pleasant apple impression. Clearly a mice summery start.

Floral and herbal undertones are added further into the drydown, with geranium with whiffs of oleander in the floral side, and sage responsible for the herbs. The base is the least exciting part, being constituted of the usual generic mix of white musk and a rather colourless soft patchouli impression.

The sillage is moderate, the projection adequate and the longevity secen hours.

Not a bad summery creation, but the base is a bit of a letdown. 2.75/5.

I'm rather surprised to find myself liking this. I've tried previous offerings under the Beckham name and they've all struck me, rather like the man himself, as being somewhat bland, generic and artificial (now, if only Joey Barton or Luis Suarez had their own brands of frangrances!).
There is definitely something richer and more mysterious about this after the fruity, floral top has faded away. I should imagine it would be at its best on warm summer nights. Alas, it's still late January here with more snow on the way.
