Reminiscent of Tom Ford For Men (2007), “Classic” by David Beckham is built upon a basic boozy / woody / floral / musk structure.

I thoroughly enjoy the scent, but buyer beware, this reservation is for a corner table for 1 or 2, as the projection volume is turned down low. Many reviews will lament this, but some guy out there somewhere is wearing this juice as it’s been in production since 2013.

Beckham Classic would be an easy pull for the office or even a date night no questions asked. Priced at $15 for 100ml, that leaves plenty of loose change in your pocket for a $21 cocktail.

Unfortunately fleeting on skin and with very faint performances Classic Homme by David Beckham is a pleasant and decent woodsy-spicy-aromatic urban contemporary fragrance for men. This fragrance was launched in 2023 (the nose behind is Aurelien Guichard) and is really cheap and affordable (but dignified and "beautiful") when you are on a budget. Under my profane nose Classic smells like a fresher and more dynamic (more "tonic" with its gin-presence) sort of Burberry Men by Burberry (1995), with a common spicy-green aromatic-leafy floral-musky/amberish base (being the Burberry's one a more structured and intense creation). Lime, mint/lavender and musk are there (heady and relevant) with hints of woodsy resins and dry slightly barber-shop florals. The fragrance is fresh, dusty woody, super dry and subtle, a fragrance for a distinguished classic man with appreciation for tradition and measured (virile and restrained) concoctions. Thyme, lime, lavender, coniferous resins and musk define the main boisé hesperidic aromatic aura, spices provide mild subtleness while synth amber afford a final touch of more restrained "disty" virility. There is a coniferous-piney-musky floral boisé resinous aura exuding from Classic and it vaguely conjures me previous classic boisé colognes a la Krizia Uomo (1984) which was finally woodsier, more muscular and less spicy on my skin (a greener glorious creation with a final dominant accord of vetiver and leather). On the other side the Classic's kind of somewhat melancholic juniper berries-oriented woodsy spiciness (and the presence of the top gin-note plus cypress and tonkinian cedar) recalls me the one we can enjoy in a wonderful (more expensive, multifaceted and far more performing) niche fragrance as Diptyque Orpheon Eau de Parfum (2021). The Classic's dry down is vaguely dusty and definitely spicy cedary, quite elegant and "aerial". A pity it lasts like a flash on skin (while it lasts slightly longly on the clothes). A decent choice to smell woodsy-piney and tonic along these really sultry periods (especially in italy) and a interesting solution to feel fresh and "minty boisé" in a really humid climates.

A copy of Eros and 1 Million, just like several launches in in the last 2 years. No wonder it became bargain basement almost right away. That said, if you like Eros and co, this is not a bad compromise.
