Initially, I picked up a well-blended mix of vanilla and woods, but the more time I spent with it, the more the white florals emerged. They don’t push the fragrance into overly powdery territory, but there’s a clearly identifiable white floral facet running through the composition. Longevity is excellent, easily lasting a full workday, with solid projection. On my skin, vanilla and woods dominate, with patchouli coming in as a supporting note. I wouldn’t call this patchouli-forward; it mainly adds depth and complexity to the vanilla and amber rather than defining the scent.

The vanilla itself isn’t loud or overtly sweet. It seems to compete a bit with tonka, which introduces a subtle nuttiness. That soft, slightly powdery quality helps bridge the white florals with the rest of the fragrance. Patchouly from the same brand sits closer to Patchouli Leaves by Montale, whereas this fragrance doesn’t have many direct comparisons. It may evoke familiar ideas, but the way it blends patchouli, white florals, and vanilla feels fairly distinct. While patchouli is listed as a main note, it’s softened and partially obscured by tonka, florals, and woods. After more testing, I wouldn’t describe it as earthy or herbal in the way Tempo is. Patchouli isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when smelling this, either because it’s used sparingly or because it’s very well integrated.

On first wear, I didn’t notice much in the way of white florals, but when smelled side by side with Patchouly, their presence here becomes much more apparent in the background. As others have noted, the patchouli comes and goes. At times I barely notice it; at other moments, small hints peek through. Smelled up close, I can also detect white florals and mandarin early on, though those fade in the drydown, which settles into mostly vanilla with a gentle woodiness.
