Latest Reviews of Dior Homme Intense (2025 version)
This just arrived, and I sprayed it on the back of my right hand about ten minutes ago. Right away, you get that familiar powdery iris, mixed with ambrette that adds a slight muskiness. My main concern going in was the cedar in the base. I love the smooth, green Haitian vetiver in DH 2020—it's what makes that iteration feel unique and signature-worthy. Cedar, on the other hand, can go either way: clean and pleasant, or straight into hamster-cage territory.
As DHI 2025 dries down, the cedar comes through a little screechy. It's not too strong—but it is present. That said, if you already own DH Original (the Europe-only version), you probably don't need this. Original is more focused on iris, powder, and musk. DHI 2025 keeps the iris/powder core, but departs with the ambrette/cedar combination. I'm still unsure about performance, but it seems on par with Original, and Original could be a bit better. That said, I get the sense that DH 2020 performs better and, in my opinion, still smells the best out of all the iterations.
After wearing this on my arm for a while, my conclusion is that DH 2020 and Original remain the best and are both worth owning. I was hoping to be more excited about this release, but honestly, it's not as good—and the cedar actually starts to bother me a bit. IMHO, stick with DH 2020, and if you want something as close to the OG as possible, go with Original.
At the time of this review, performance seems to be severely lacking also. It does not retain that powdery iris all the way to dry down, where it's just ambrette and cedar.

Thought I'd leave a review for anyone wondering about this rebottling of Dior Homme Intense.
This is just as the first line says, a rebottling, there don't appear to be any changes to the formula as far as I can tell. So unlike Dior Homme EDT and Dior Homme Parfum, Dior Homme Intense hasn't been changed, as yet.
Edit: Having found out that Dior print their formula codes on the box, this is indeed a different formula to my oldest bottle, however it is the same formula as a bottle I purchased in 2024.
Update: Having spent more time with the new bottle and having done side-by-side wearings with my older bottle (about 4 years old) there are definitely some changes. It's still 95% the same fragrance but the 2025 version seems less powdery, although still Iris driven, in the opening. There is still the classic cocoa and cedar in the middle but more airy and less sweet. The fragrance does stay close after a few hours but I didn't find my older bottle to shout with its projection anyway.
I don't buy into the maceration stuff but the fragrance is definitely a little darker than when I bought it 2-3 months ago and longevity wise it still lasts just as long, if marginally less powerful toward the end of this wearing.
Still a thumbs up fragrance but depending how you feel about the line YMMV.
