Ikat Jasmine

A happy sunny floral. Very pleasant and easy-going. High quality, decent longevity on clothes - not so good on skin - but absolutely horrifying projection and sillage. For the price it's hard to defend a full bottle purchase. For those who tend to think fragrances are too strong this would be a winner.

More honeysuckle than Mediterranean Honeysuckle from the same house. I love it, but I also love honeysuckle. The longevity is disappointing for the price point, but still, it's nice. I'm starting to appreciate the simplicity and understated classiness of Aerin fragrances, but I still think they could stand to be a little cheaper (or at least a little more lasting).

Opening was a strong blast of jasmine and tuberose. It is a very bright opening. The middle and dry down are very floral but exceptionally pretty. I am not a strong floral lover unless there is a creaminess to it. So, this one is not for me. However, it was a very well done jasmine fragrance. It would be great for someone who is seeking this sort of thing.

All of the Aerin scents seem to me to be less about a soliflore offering and more of a mixed floral with a dominant note--in this case Jasmine. Jasmine is such a major note in perfumery and so many great perfumes have been built around it that it is a brave move to enter this arena. This doesn't set out to be the next Jasmal, or Joy. It is a really pretty "lifestyle" fragrance that tips its hat to Jasmine, in this case, or lilac, gardenia, etc. in the other fragrances. High quality, as pretty as the ads, and--although it is by Lauder--just niche enough to feel special. My wife wore this every day on a recent trip to Japan and I must say, it was the perfect scent, complementing, not competing with, the incense, etc. that one smells in the various temples and shrines.
