And now, yet another entry into “The Elixir Chronicles” canon…

First, this one is a dead ringer kissing cousin of YSL La Nuit de L’Homme EDP, which was released and then discontinued five minutes later in 2019.

Davana is used in the opening which gives it a chameleon like fruity, woodsy, booziness as it warms up. We then have Rose and Black Iris creating a smooth Kenny G like atmosphere.

The ad copy claims Latigo Leather and Rum to be down here somewhere, but if they are here at all then it’s extremely subtle. A beefed up base would definitely have been appreciated, but ultimately the main players are more of the same cedarwood and Tonka bean. Not bad, but also nothing “sensual and decadent.”

As JV frags go, XX Elixir is another decent entry from perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, who has established himself as the guy who has mastered the delivery of designer clones that are just different enough to stand on their own.

The! longevity! police online will be dejected and disappointed as this one has much better staying power than JV frags are known for. Alas, the sillage remains low and wears close to the user.

Finally, is it sexy? Well, the heavy, ornamental bottle will look confident on your dresser.
