Named after the former prairies and farmland that would become South Saint Louis City where Chatillon Lux is headquartered, La Petite Prairie breathes a modern breath into the classics.
While studying the structure of many of the classics over time, but imagining how our era’s tastes impact how the structure evolves, La Petite Prairie came out. This has a timeless composition of tea-like citrus, springtime florals, well-behaved herbal notes and vetiver from Haiti and Java. It is perfect for any occasion in any era.
La Petite Prairie fragrance notes
- vetiver, citrus, geranium, carnation, pineapple, rhubarb, rosemary, sichuan pepper

"La Petite Prairie from Chatillon Lux: A Multi-Generational Fresh Vetiver Citrus Fragrance".Like many of his scents takes you on an olfactory journey as the scents evolve to new and unusual combinations held together by perfumers magic, ans scents that revive memories.
This scent took me "home" the minute I sprayed it on moved back in time to a half-remembered childhood.
The opening is crisp childhood mornings spent in the high plains. Running wild, crushing grasses to make paths through the 6'strands of waving tall-grass prairie or cutting through a shorter grazed pasture and plowed field to find...treasure, a friend, or just an exploration. The scents are all there to lead me on gently to more earthy and sweet and bitter flowers. They grow among the grasses, releasing their scent into afternoon breezes.
Under it all is a base of something deep,primal-- earth. This holds the scents together keep you from floating up into the sky as you spin around just for the sheer fun of it.
The horizon is uninterrupted as you spin:a sensation people find freeing or terrifying, those around you may respond similarly to the smell.
Shawn Mahrer generously provides very detailed fragrance notes, as a newbie, I enjoy reading, then searching for notes I've missed.
