This fragrance presents a combination of musky citrus with a hint of iris. However, it falls short in terms of excitement and fails to leave a lasting impression. Considering its lack of uniqueness, it may not be worth the price it demands.

The opening blast with its mandarin-bergamot start has a restrainedly bright feeling to it, which is continued a bit later on by a slightly darker neroli impression, with an underlying fig impression instilling a bit of sweetness at this stage.

Later in the drydown a lovely iris takes the centre stage, with a woody undertone that is enhanced by hits of cedar appearing now and then.

The base has a musky tendency, a darker musky impression that is quite discreet and never expressing pungent or harsh chracteristics. Ambery/ambrette features are added in towards the end.

I get moderate sillage, good projection, and five hours of longevity on my skin.

An agreeable scent for spring and autumn days, the trench coat season on rainy days. Some notes are a bit too generic, and on he whole it not an especially creative composition, but overall is is quite nice - but nothing special and not performing particularly well. 2.75/5

It's like mixing a feminine, powdery iris with a masculine, soapy, barbershop scent. For some reason, I keep making connections to scents like Rive Gauche and even Beach Hut Man. Strange, neither of those share any like notes. Oh well, good thing this is all subjective.

Ultimately, it leans feminine to me but smells good coming off my skin.

Performance is very good with just enough projection and all workday longevity.

Sweet & sour citrus. Fresh fig. Citrusy Neroli; it's just right, not too strong. The fig lingers into the heart. The iris is light, kind of overpowered by the fig and Neroli, unfortunately. Strong nutty, amber-ish wood base.

Nice, well-rounded citrus-woody-floral from YSL!

Top = bergamot, tangerine, fig;
Heart = iris, neroli;
Base = ambrette (musk mallow), cedarwood, musk.

Trench, from YSL's Le Vestiare des Parfums, comes across as a unisex scent that is better worn by ladies. Powdery, citrus, clean in its form and finish, it touches on several key emotions in me that keep me hooked!

I can see myself really enjoying this scent trail from a woman, but not necessarily wear it myself as a man.
