Inspired by moonlight shinning on lake water. This has the touches of a classic masculine fougere taken to a winter retreat. A fern in winter lakeside if you will.
I picked this up last summer, but knew there would come a time during winter where this would be just the medicine. There's a cold element in this that also cuts through the cold while remaining incredibly fresh, and refreshing. Cool water bubbling through a stoney brook, maybe, but more, I get liquid moonlight.
After months of going towards heavier fragrances, one just needs to lighten things up a bit, and get just a whiff of hope that spring will come again.

If mental clarity had a smell, I think it would be this. Lune d'Eau is meant to evoke a cold mountain lake in the moonlight and it does this so well! The juniper and amyris notes give it a crisp, woody fougere characteristic, while the mineral accord (something I've never smelled anywhere else yet) gives it the delicious smoothness of stones polished by freshwater.

Over time, it loses its woodiness, becoming more and more mineral. Longevity is moderate, and sillage is below-average. It quickly becomes a skin scent, which, to me, is a plus point as I love the secrecy/exclusiveness that comes with having a skin scent.

A wintry woody aquatic that would work well in the cold (think alphine smells) as well as the warmth (the icyness is a balm against the heat).

I was given a free sample when I purchased a bottle of something else at Bloom Perfumery in London. Used up the sample almost immediately and bought a 50 mL bottle as soon as I could!
