M7 Fresh was launched in July 2004 as a follow up to 2002's M7 fragrance. It was created by Firmenich perfumer Jacques Cavallier, who co-created the original M7 with Alberto Morillas.

The fragrance features Oud (Agarwood), like the original, but partners it with some fresher notes such as grapefruit and ginger.

I was ready to leave a neutral feedback when I first got it since at first try wearing this seemed very dull and basic. But I said to myself Come'On give it some time since I have a very special love for the original M7 and generally most woody oriental fragrances. And to my surprise the hate turned into love.I've came to love it,what a beautiful scent that it is,Cavallier Belletrud is a fucking MASTERMIND.Upon first spray I get a massive dose of lemon with either the grapefruit or the mandarin mixed in together. This one seems very different from most summer/shower gell type of fragrances.I can perfectly describe it as Fresh,Spicy and Bright,a bit earthy as well.Sometimes I can also smell the mandarin note which is awesome!!There are spices-herbs thrown in there which they shine through immediately as well but first spray is all about the lemon-grapefruit combo which smells sharp with an added addition of neroli which I think makes it a little bit more sour than it already is.Sometimes I get the Aquatic Vibe as another user stated in this community but it is very minor, reminds me of fresh cucumber.Sophisticated, bold and sexy creamy kind of sharp astrigent smell at the opening but once it dries down it is very pleasing. It is Manly and Bold enough but a woman could also wear it since it has ginger and oud.But what really is special to my nose (not that I'm particulary experienced tho) is the Ginger mixed with all of the citruses and some vetiver which I can't smell at all. What is also interesting here is that I can't detect any Oud at all.It is SO well camouflaged that if you would tell me that this is an OUD scent, then I would strongly disagree with you.Very well done in terms of ingredients, all natural and very creative blend.Only problem that I have with this is longevity and price point. They both suffer from it.I have dry skin (I moisturize before putting on any fragrance),this one needs four sprays minimum since tha atomizer is perfect,it shoots very big juice👌.The moment I put it on,i could smell it for about 10 to 20 minutes, then It starts becoming skin scent and top notes fade.Eventually tho I get two to three hours longevity with this one which kind of sucks, given the fact this used to be longer lasting back in the days (maybe it's the reformulation),who knows since the box lists many ingredients. The prices on Ebay and sites where some bottles are still left and sold are very very pricy for what it really is.Don't bother spending 300 euros or dollars for it or any eau de toilette,it is stupid as heck. This one I got it for less like 180 euros, still expensive tho but understandable since it is a vintage fragrance.Overall a very good one,I give it a solid 4.3 out of 5!!!Very Good Creation, sad it didn't catch on

Pleasant , light as opposed to fresh fragrance. Grapefruit and ginger in generic form open leaving Vetiver and Agarwood after 20 mins. I understand the medicinal comments others have made. Poor projection and longevity.

Fragrance: 6.75/10
Projection: 6.5/10
Longevity: 6.5/10

From the bottle I get Oud and herbs with some citrus. Once I spray it I get Herbs very little citrus and slight Oud. I absolutely love it. VERY FRESH! A top notch scent. Of course, since Mr Ford left to do his own thing YSL discontinued the fragrance. They should release this again along with M7. Give us fume heads some nice quality instead of releasing another L'Homme flanker. If you can find this in your price range, go for it, you won't regret it. Enjoy!

Had to get this after trying the fantastic Original M7- when the label says "fresh", they mean it! I don't even get the grapefruit note, just FRESH and lovely herbal notes. One of my new faves. Why discontinue this?! A must have!

YSL M7 Fresh is connected to the original M7 that preceded it by their common use of oud, but Fresh is a significant departure in that it is far less of a deep, dark experience and far more of a fresh one, as its name rightly suggests.

I get a slight aquatic vibe despite the fresher components being grapefruit, ginger, neroli, and vetiver, none explicitly marine, but nonetheless excellently coupled with the bold oud that come out more in the dry down.

This reminds me of the recently-released Tom Ford (Private Blend) Oud Minerale in their similar pairing of oud with fresher elements.

Still pricey on the secondary market (as it's been discontinued for some years), M7 Fresh is nonetheless impressive in juggling the fresh elements and oud. In my mind, conceptually, this duality shouldn't work out well, but for some reason, it does, and I'm left impressed by it.

Dusted off my bottle of M7 Fresh after a decade of non-use, and decided to give it another spritz.

From the start, there is a big burst of citrus (grapefruit) and ginger. It envelopes me immediately with the neroli in a gentle way, fading slightly after 15 minutes. Vetiver is evident around this time, remaining stable throughout the wear cycle.

It definitely strikes me as a deliberately muted version of the loud original, suited for warmer seasons but wearable in cooler months as well. Probably harder to find nowadays, but worth checking out if you'd like a toned-down, decent flanker of M7.
