Latest Reviews of Malbec Bleu
Malbec Bleu belongs to O Boticário’s brazilian long-running Malbec line, a collection known for translating wine-inspired masculinity into modern perfumery with smooth woods, ambery-musky auras and approachable dynamic freshness. Launched in the Brazilian market in 2021, one year after Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo, Malbec Bleu stands as a close relative of Profondo (both performed under supervision of the great Master nose Alberto Morillas): I'd say that where Armani leans more mineral-marine and coniferous-balsamic, Malbec Bleu opts for a musky, slightly sweeter and sporty ambered final warmth while keeping (along the way) a similar aromatic blue-fragrance attitude. The scent opens with crisp aquatic notes blended with a bright citrus lift, quickly moving into a heart of aromatic herbs and smooth woods; as it settles, the composition turns out velvety, with clean musks and a gentle amber accord rounding things out, giving the fragrance its subtly sweet, modern “blue” signature. The evolution is streamlined, fresh to aromatic to musky-amber, without rough edges or noticeable olfactory switches or bumps. In mood and usage, Malbec Bleu fits effortlessly into daily easy going wear: office-friendly, gym-suitable, date-appropriate and ideal for warm climates where a clean yet slightly sensual presence appears kind of mandarory (especially in South America). Malbec Bleu is versatile and easygoing, ideal for office wears, casual outings, warm weather or even relaxed date settings. It conveys a confident, approachable easygoing freshness with just enough character to avoid smelling generic. Performance is somewhat moderate: projection stands in the soft-to-medium range, longevity around 5/7 hours depending on skin, with its musky base providing most of the staying power. It’s also worth noting that the follow-up fragrance, Malbec Ultra Blue, was later introduced in 2023, though I haven’t yet tested it on skin. Overall, Malbec Bleu stands as another more than decent release from the vast South American market, by now crafted with respectably European standards.
