I blind bought this after watching Youtube fragrance reviews - give me a break, I didn't know any better back then! It was touted as Fahrenheit EDT without the gasoline accord, which intrigued me... and it is a fairly accurate description to be fair.

Mercedes-Benz Intense is a delightful violet freshie. If you're not fond of violet leaf, steer clear, because that note dominates this linear fragrance. It's surprisingly wearable up to 30 degrees Celsius. Having said that, given the benefit of hindsight, I wouldn't pay more than €30 for the 120ml bottle.

Warning: needs 10 sprays minimum so those extra 20ml you get will go poof quicker than Keyser Söze. Don't expect great projection and sillage.

Masculinity Level: A modern, metrosexual, fit 25-year-old male who thinks he's tough, but gets manicures and pedicures regularly.

Starts strong, with a hearty blast of jasmine, citrus and black pepper - this is absolutely 'Fahrenheit' at a sliced cost. For me, the drydown is where it's at with this fragrance, and where Mercedes-Benz Intense sets itself apart slightly from Fahrenheit.

In the drydown, the heavy, almost cloying presence of jasmine, citrus and black pepper begin to get wrapped in a veil of creamy violet, amber and nutmeg. And in the latter stages of the drydown, as the fragrance gets closer and closer to the skin (though never fully losing its amazing sillage,) wood and incense notes start showing up - cedar, vetiver, and patchouli- bringing the overall 'red' cloud slightly closer to the earth into shades of brown and green. Yes, some of the notes in this blend are synthetic, but they're so well-blended, it doesn't smell like a cheapie at all.

It should also be noted that the bottle is great - a very heavy glass with a beautiful black to clear gradient running down the bottle. The heft of this bottle adds to the air of luxury, again, at non-luxury prices.

The entire affair is phenomenal at this price point, and for my money absolutely gives Fahrenheit a run for its money. This is a sophisticated, chameleonic fragrance with fantastic projection and longevity.

The violet stars in the sweet, soapy opening but the drydown reveals synthetic modern notes that smell bad on skin but are very nice if you just catch them in the air.

It does resemble Fahrenheit in the beginning but also mixed with very loud sweet notes, making for a unique retro/modern twist.

Performance is very good as it lasts all day and projects for about 6 hours.

I've started to look into car, tobacco, celeb scents etc
Mercedes Benz intense was one that I bought blind on a flight. It's up there with my top 10 frags.
The opening is a lovely citrus peppery burst,(it's one of my favorite combinations), with a prominent cedar accord. Its somewhat reminiscent of Dunhill Desire Black which is also a great frag.

The base of MBI is a spicy green cedar, which is a scent that I tend to avoid, ( I think a childhood memory of an unpleasant uncle who wore brut or some such green cedary frag with a beastly sillage and projection). However in saying that, I actually don't mind it in this frag, I think the spice (nutmeg-also not a favorite accord) in the base tended to ameliorate the sharpness of the cedar. This combination works well, not something in my realm really but it's opened up another olfactory space for me to explore.
Suitable for formal and semi formal occasions, it has a formality in it that augments formal attire.

It gets a 7/10 overall

What a pleasant surprise!

Rich, deep, masculine amber based violet fragrance. I must admit I had some doubts, but after sniff in shop I decided to buy it on a spot. A good move, no regrets.

It reminds me of Fahrenheit, but this one is a bit more sophisticated IMHO that Fahreinheit, violet note stays still in the background. A bit heavier, but still fresh masculine fragrance, worthy of attention. Classy fragrance with very good projection and sillage lasting several hours. When sprayed on clothed it lasts even longer.
