Latest Reviews of Missoni Parfum pour Homme
Once again it's the same old story. A modern fragrance labelled an Eau de Parfum in an eye catching bottle that's sleek and attractive. The scent itself is rather pleasant and it won't chase anybody out of the room and you'll get compliments, maybe. All that said my biggest issue with this is, you guessed it, poor longevity. I should get at least 7 to 8 hrs or more from this but instead I barely get 3 or 4 then I find myself constantly sniffing my wrist for any sign of it. After paying almost $100 in a brand new box and this and that I should not go through this. That's why I favor Vintage so much.

Does Missoni Parfum PH smell similar to Bleu de Chanel (BdC)? There might be a slight resemblance in the first few minutes. However, I would say that Missoni is more comparable to fragrances like Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce and Curve by Liz Claiborne. It’s a very enjoyable and versatile fragrance that is suitable for nearly any occasion and is likely to earn you a compliment or two. I personally like this fragrance and would recommend giving it a try.

It baffles me as to why a fashion house as unique as Missoni continues to put out such regular-smelling fragrances, as this smells very similar to Bleu de Chanel. However, it never gets as spicy or woody as the aforementioned, but instead ventures more herbal and musky. I also get a small hint of CK One. I would say Missoni Parfum would make a safe blind buy, and a good gift as it has zero chance of offending anyone. I'm sure it's already been discontinued as I haven't seen it in department stores in awhile.
This fragrance has been mentioned as a good clone of Bleu de Chanel, and I somewhat agree. However, it also has its own unique qualities, adopting a less abrasive drydown with a muskiness similar to Montblanc Legend or A&F Fitch. While the opening doesn't capture the bright grapefruit of BdC, it is still enjoyable. I should note that I personally prefer the bright opening of BdC to its drydown.
Missoni Pour Homme takes the artificial incense note from BdC and replaces it with birch, apple, and a bit of oak, resulting in a smoother and more balanced fragrance. I enjoy the drydown of Missoni more than BdC, but it does come at the cost of longevity. This fragrance sits closer to the skin and doesn't project as much, making it more suitable for office situations.
Overall, while I will miss the opening of BdC, I believe Missoni's rendition is slightly more refined and balanced. If you're a fan of BdC, I still recommend going for the EDT version. However, if you're like me and not a huge fan of BdC, Missoni Pour Homme is a good alternative to try.

This fragrance is deceptive. At first you get some bright citrus, that to my nose, that tries too hard to get you to like it. It's got this sweet-fresh thing going on, with what I'm guessing is a lot of lemon and maybe the grapefruit. It's not bad at this point, and even a relief to the harsh chemicals swirling about in stuff like Gucci Guilty and Allure Homme Sport.
Then it gets to the middle and you get a very subdued "dark blue" smell. A very, office-friendly, versatile take on Bleu de Chanel or Dylan Blue. It never gets into those two fragrances' territory of heaviness or spice. It's just the fainted hint of the genre's boldness.
When it dries down further and the base notes come into play, it takes on a slightly more nuanced approach. It's still kind of subdued compared to other modern blues, but it gains some additional character that makes it more interesting, and it's the best part of the scent. There's something small in this part of the dry down that reminds me of an old school 80s/early 90s scent. Just something small though, as it's definitely not trying to be retro or "mature". It's just a very versatile fragrance that I think anyone can wear.
It doesn't come across as "beast mode projection" at all, despite being labeled a "parfum." But that's fine for me because I don't want my fragrance to precede me.
CONCLUSION:
This is one is surprisingly good. Unlike most men's fragrances where the top notes are the best part, the reverse is true of Missoni. When the base notes come into play you get something really nice.

I love this fragrance, but I find it just dissipates very quickly on me.
Very pleasant, complex fragrance that develops very nicely, but basically becomes a skin scent on me within an hour. Just wish it had better sillage and longevity, then I'd give it an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
