Mon Homme Galitzine is a pretty under the radar scent, released in 1982...pretty obscure name/ house, Russian heritage, modelling in Italy and bam this came after King Kouros, wich some say it resambles it a little bit....i know 2 scents from this house, Mon Homme and a ladys scent wich is nowhere to be seen...hardly any reviews, only info of course here on Basenotes, like it should be...very very cool design, both the bottle and box look just so 80s and clean, love it!. It somehow resambles designwise the box of another Italian banger, also early 80s, Mitos by Napoleon/ Morris, the boxdesigns have the same look somehow, maybe Galitzine a little slicker.
Anyway, this smells deep and rich, glorieus stuff. It very much resambles vintage Givenchy Gentleman, at least to me . If you like patchouli driven, 80s Italian spicey and leathery this is a winner.it also has that sweet note, and a little animalic...wich a lot of Italian stuff had back then. This scent was imo short lived? Theres very little info to be found. But fact is, whats still around is priced very high ( too high..?). Another victim of the all vintage bottles are gold bars mania...but if you bump into a bottle wich someone sells from his grandfather and dont know this scent anyway, just grab it, absolutly no one at your work wears this, you are wearing Mon Homme with a crown.
Like one of the best reviewers here on Basenotes always states; thumbs up!
