A joyous hymn of light in a church long abandoned before the rains came and went.
My Most Meaningful Relationships fragrance notes
- petrichor, rosewood, vetiver
Latest Reviews of My Most Meaningful Relationships
Saturated with petrichor and vetiver. It has a dry, medicinal vibe. Also, "greenish". Stays linear and steady, for its life on my skin. Lasts 10 and more hours. Heavy sillage.
TLDR: Good (3.75/5). Thumbs up for well done petrichor.
Since discovering petrichor as a fragrance note (in Le Labo's wonderful Baie 19) I have been in love with this distinctive, after the rain, damp earthy odor. My Most Meaningful Relationships presents Filigree & Shadow's James Elliott's minimalist take on the use of this scent and it is a spare, restrained gem.
The opening is almost a petrichor 'solifeur' and it is a great way for the fragrance explorer to get to know the smell in all of its complexity.
Gradually, in the mid, ever so slight woody rose elements emerge and round out the petrichor. I do not get any sweetness from the rosewood, but I do get some warmth. In the drydown, an earthy vetiver joins in with the other two elements and a very slightly incense/spicy note not listed in the description of the scent is also here, whether by virtue of the interplay of the three listed notes or from the addition of something like nutmeg I cannot be sure.
Projection and siliage are mid level and I get about 5 hours before the fragrance recedes into a couple additional hours as a purely skin scent.
Like all of Filigree's products, this one comes with a name that is noticeable-but for me, not terribly connected to the experience of the scent.
A thumbs up for the petrichor notes and for making this utterly niche product available in bottles that are small, and therefore, inexpensive enough to allow the curious to check out the fragrance without making a major $ commitment to it.
Bottom line: a Zen approach to an unusual scent element and a must try for those interested in petrichor (which looks, at this writing, like it might be becoming a 'thing': Baie 19, Mihan Aromatics Petrichor Plains, this scent, and even a couple of Amouage (Figment Man, and, to my nose, Enclave) and Elixir Attar's new Vert scent all seem to have it.)
Recommended for folks interested in Petrichor.
