Neroli
Rag & Bone (2016)

The peppery side of neroli. I find it linear, decently balanced, easy-to-wear to the point of almost boring.
This became a mindless reach when I was in the mood for an orange blossom / neroli scent that wasn't too sweet or too challenging.

Would I race out to get more? Maybe if I didn't already have a number of other, more interesting, options in my collection.

Rag & Bone's Neroli isn't especially neroli-dominant to my nose, as the lemon and orange flower create a more general floral/citrus mix that, while pleasant, and clearly containing neroli, isn't only neroli.

The dry down is pleasant as the honey and vanilla mix in, but overall, this isn't all that special to me, though I wouldn't mind wearing it, even often, at that.

Performance is subpar for a niche-priced ($140 for 50ml) EDP, but I admit I probably wouldn't spring for this one even at half price, as there are more interesting offerings in the line, for sure.

***EDIT: I ultimately acquired a bottle and grew to enjoy the neroli/vanilla mix quite a bit. It's still not as good as Amber, overall, but is a fun twist on neroli.

The opening sees a neroli - an average rendering of this note - with a citric and mildly spicy set of undertones.

The drydown adds a somewhat unspecific white floral component, with a sweetish vanilla entering the scene in the base notes. That said, this composition is never really very sweet, and never cloying on me.

The rest is characterised by white musks, which are stronger towards the end.

I get moderate sillage, adequate projection and four hours of longevity on my skin.

This spring scent is not bad, but the components are quite bland, and some of them too synthetic in character. All right on the whole, but that's all. 2.75/5.
